I really don't understand why so many people hate AC Rogue. It really does seem like a copy of AC 3, AC 3 Liberation, AC 4 Black Flag and AC 4 Freedom Cry, but let's not forget that AC 1, AC 2, AC Brotherhood and AC Revelations are the same. And so are AC Origins, AC Odyssey and AC Vallhalla, so I don't understand why people were so surprised. Returning to the subject of AC Rogue, I like that it is different in terms of story, I can say that it is the only AC game where you give up the creed to join the Templars, but still Shay did it for a reason and here he showed us that in fact not all assassins are good, just like not all Templars are bad, and this makes the story unique. The 3 maps are very good and well detailed, but honestly New York is much better in AC 3.The graphics are much better than in the other previous games, you have new activities to do in the game, new collectibles and you have a lot to play to get all this. You have a new weapon that resembles the one in AC 4 Black Flag, but with this you can also throw grenades, plus now compared to the previous games you can put on your mask so you can fight through smoke and toxic fumes. The naval combat system is very slightly improved , very fun and adventurous to do. And returning to the story again, Shay suffered a lot, and was put on the facts to kill all the teachers make him suffer even more. My opinion is that he is one of the most brutal and good assassins of all time. The parkour seems much superior/smoother to AC 3 and AC 4 Black Flag. What the developers could have done was to make the game a little longer in story, but it still takes you almost 40 hours to complete the whole game and still enjoy everything it offers you to do in it. I really liked the game and it is my first AC game that I finished 100% + all achievements. ''I make my own luck!''
the game doesn't work right on modern hardware, and ultimately I'm not going to mess around trying to get what is clearly a mid game to work.
Whenever you want to distinguish Assassin's Creed games you always resort to such bland dialogue like 'This one you can scale walls smoother' or 'This one you play as a Templar!'. Rogue is perhaps the biggest offender in the mainline entries, serving as a Black Flag 1.5. It was (arguably) excusable for the Ezio trilogy as they were one big story, but here you are left with a 10 hour narrative — a third of that travelling — that tries to add nuance to the Templars through contrivance after contrivance. It's a failed execution of a fun concept, one that deserved the full force of the Ubisoft Machine. As always, the historical aspect is excellent; the Seven Years War backdrop does a lot for me, the Avengers theme played in my head every time Cook or Washington showed up. If the gameplay loop and wide focus were as tight as the first game I would have more than 20 second intervals of being immersed. When it does work — when the snowstorms are coming through the screen, the fog of cannon fire obscuring whatever you've just unleashed hell upon, ships battling against the wrath of the ocean — it's glorious, simply glorious. Take away the HUD, take away the contracts and the animal hunts and the bloat. Take it all away, and you've got a swashbuckling story meshed with the strong foundation of history. I'm grasping at the silver lining, but every game I slip a little further towards the ocean. And the ocean is getting ever so big.
Nice! Quote: "Remember that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Probably worth a google?"
Nota 8.5/10
Most based game in the series.
play them all
