Assassin's Creed™ is the next-gen game developed by Ubisoft Montreal that redefines the action genre. Assassin's Creed is where it all began. Looking back, it's easy to see that the gameplay is more repetitive than later entries, but for a game released in 2007, it was incredibly ambitious. The atmosphere is still one of the best in the series. The cities feel alive, the soundtrack is memorable, and the setting during the Third Crusade gives the game a unique identity that no other Assassin's Creed has quite matched. Altaïr starts off arrogant but grows into one of the franchise's most interesting protagonists. Yes, every assassination follows a similar structure—investigate, gather information, eliminate the target—but I never found it boring because each target had a purpose, and the story kept me invested. Parkour can feel clunky by today's standards, and combat is fairly simple, but both were revolutionary at the time. If you're expecting a modern open-world RPG, this isn't it. But if you want to experience the roots of one of gaming's biggest franchises, Assassin's Creed is absolutely worth playing. Rating: 8.5/10 "Nothing is true. Everything is permitted."

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 7: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

its a solid game yeah its repetitive af but i overall had fun. the story isnt much to write home but its a solid foundation and starting point for the franchise as a whole. Most of the characters and enemies outside Malik, Altair and Al Mualim were pretty forgettable and didnt really stand out that much in my opinion but were serviceable in the roles they played in the game. Onto my fav parts of ac1, the three cities and how different they all felt and the filters they had over them which gave them their own sense of life for example Damascus was really saturated blooming with colour whereas a city like Acres colours were mostly a cold and depressing shade of blue and grey. Gameplay wise there isnt too much to talk about but it still holds up decently well. The fighting was fun if a bit easy at times but the parkour surprised me with how well it holds up even now for a game thats 18 years with back ejects and side ejects, ledge grabs the parkour has its own depth and ways to master. In conclusion id say to pick up ac1, it holds up great even now and you will absolutely will get your moneys worth for how dirt cheap this game goes for, its a great starting point for the franchise and a OG ubisoft classic would recommend.
Doesn't even start on windows and the controls are completely broken on SteamOS. Unplayable mess. Ridicilous that the game is allowed to be sold in this state.
I like AC1. The game excels in its atmosphere, its themes, the journey that Altair that journey goes on as he moves through each target along with how the game adds to the mystery of the modern-day story line with Abstergo/The Templars. AC1 is however dated in its gameplay, specifically in the mission design. The assassinations themselves are good, giving the player the freedom to decide how they want to complete them for the most part, along with the investigations giving them more information on the best way to tackle whatever target they are facing. However, these investigation missions are very repetitive, with there being only about 6 different mission types which are repeated for all 9 assassinations. However, I think this is held up by some fun, if basic, combat and a parkour system which still makes exploring Damascus, Acre and Jerusalem very fun. Decent game, especially for 2007, but has so much potential, which I am excited to continue with AC2 in the future.
Game is great, steam port is atrocious. I urge you to play this game on any other platform if possible.
