Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Latest in each market: best BR #100, worst PL #100 · 2 markets collected
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Assassin's Creed: Unity gives off strong "one step forward, two steps back" energy. As the first mainline entry built for eighth-generation consoles, Ubisoft clearly wanted to flex the jump from the previous generation's 512 MB of RAM to a full 8 GB. The crowd density is impressive, Paris feels alive, and the seamless transitions between exterior and interior spaces - often with multiple entry points - were genuinely exciting at the time. From a technical and visual standpoint, it was a big leap forward for the series. Unfortunately, that ambition doesn't carry over to how the game actually plays. Movement in Assassin's Creed has always been clunky, with a strange magnetic pull toward walls and ledges, but Unity cranks that problem up to eleven. Fine control feels limited, especially while climbing. Even something as simple as jumping off a tightrope feels awkward, with movement snapping into rigid directions instead of going where you intend. I found myself fighting the controls more here than in any other entry. Having also played Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, I'm convinced it suffers from many of the same issues - they're just better hidden thanks to the grappling hook. The story doesn't help. Arno is clearly meant to be an Ezio-style leading man, but he mostly comes across as smug rather than charming. The Brotherhood's decision-making also feels inconsistent. At one point, Arno is reprimanded for assassinating
Germain
without approval, with the explanation that Assassins shouldn't choose their own targets. That would carry more weight if I hadn't assassinated a dozen people for breakfast, another dozen people between
Germain
and this cutscene, and spent the past seven games in this series assassinating people because that sort of thing is my bag, baby. The contradiction is hard to ignore, and it completely undercuts the narrative stakes. Then there's the collectibles, which feel like a developer competition at Ubisoft to see who could design the most annoying system. Some treasure chests appear red on the map and clearly require lockpicking - fine. Others appear white, implying they're accessible, but are still hidden behind locked doors. There are three lockpicking tiers, so hunting for any of them before reaching level three is pointless. Helix Rifts are even worse: only one collectible spawns per run, and it can be one you already have, forcing endless restarts just to roll the dice again. There are also "Nomad" points permanently stuck on the map that originally tied into a now-defunct mobile app. They aren't tied to any achievements, and the chests they once unlocked are already available, leaving these markers as useless clutter you can't clear. And to top it off, the worst offender, some collectibles are locked behind co-op missions, meaning you either need to convince a friend to play a decade-old game or join randoms and awkwardly abandon the objective to grab collectibles instead. People like to say every Assassin's Creed is the same. After playing this, I have to disagree. Between the frustrating movement, muddled storytelling, and actively hostile completion design, I have to say this one is worse - much worse.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 11: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I've played this since around the time it came out and I still love it. I wish more people would play it.
