I have been playing every AC game (aside from chronicles and the DS ones) for the last 19 years. I have never written a review before and I do not write this now because I think this is the best game in franchise (AC Brotherhood holds my heart). The reason I write is because this has been the closest AC experience for close to a decade that actually felt like an AC experience , the one hit hiddenn blades for stealth, the compelling story, engaging action all hit home. There are certainly issues. The RPG elements like hack and slash compared to cinematic ways of days gone by. The UI is too close to Shadows still and the need for health packs all feel weird. However, this should be encouraged rather than wastethe best foot forward in a decade as a time to tear it down over how great the original was. The fact is, this is the best AC experience since the Rogue and is the most encouraging sign of understanding of what players want by Ubisoft in a long time. I don't want choice of how my character deals with complex issues. I'm viewing my ancestors memories not choosing how he/she does it. Massive shout out to ubisoft Singapore and the new head of AC franchise for haivng the courage to change the playbook and I will be flying past my 70 hours to finish every mission this game has to offer.
Great remake. I haven't played an assassins creed game since Shadows (major disappointment), but before that it was the ps3 era. This just feels like a stellar game. It looks gorgeous, but I've played many games that are polished on fidelity, but suck in the things that matter- this game is well rounded, and surprisingly so. It's actually been an immersive blast to play this and would recommend it to anyone who just wants to escape for a while. Side note: I wish I could kill the drunkard NPC at my main camp that keeps making the repetitive noises. I would really like if I could murder him.
Ubi actually pulled it off
