Ощущения странные, как будто тебе дали попробовать очень дорогой кусок торта, а потом сказали "это просто образец, иди работай дальше". Игра позиционируется как "небольшой взгляд в будущее" метавселенной Ashes Of Idunn, и это звучит красиво, но на деле она очень короткая и сырая. Сюжет вроде бы интересный: ты берсерк, чей народ сгорел в огне, и ты ищешь ответы у загадочной Вёльвы. Звучит эпично, но всё повествование укладывается в пару роликов, и толком ничего не успеваешь прочувствовать. Геймплей - это классическое рубисловие с топором в открытом мире. Бегаешь по заснеженным холмам, кромсаешь врагов, собираешь травку для восстановления здоровья у рун. Драка довольно примитивная, противники туповаты, и если на тебя набегает больше трёх врагов, то лучше бежать - механика не рассчитана на толпы. Техническая сторона меня удивила. У меня комп не слабый, но я всё равно замечал подтормаживания и какие-то странные зависания. Кстати, игра бесплатная, но русского языка нет, а системка с кучей ингредиентов для зелий без перевода может запутать. В общем, если у вас мощный комп, вы фанат викингов и готовы играть в короткую и сырую демку, которая выглядит как анонс будущей большой игры - можно залететь. Но для обычного геймера это просто бесплатный способ убить час и забыть о существовании этого проекта. И если этот обзор наберёт 50 лайков и 10 наград - сыграю 100 часов. Great demo! Can't wait for full release! Ending was Epic! CRYPTO MINER? Definitely not.. I tested this game on multiple machines, and created benchmark with other games made with UE 5.4 which use assets like Fluid Flux 2.0 etc. There is poor optimization, but it is just alpha demo. So chill, this is proper game, and will be very good one in future!

"Ashes Of Idunn: Tales Of Fimbulwinter" is not a game. It's an advertisement for a product called "NFTs". NFTs is apparently a blockchain/NFT mining game (banned on Steam), and this tech demo is the "first sample is free" from the cryptobros pushing this yet-to-be-released scamware on gamers. The developers website explicitly says [i]"Our approach is simple: create engaging play-to-earn games that integrate seamlessly with blockchain technology, offering both fun and financial benefits."[/i] How far would you trust these cryptobros to install their software on your gaming PC? NFT games are banned on Steam, and while Valve does not aggressively enforce this ban, what the developers are trying to do here is disgusting. But this isn't completely relevant because this is not the main NFT/blockchain miner the developers are planning, it's just an advertisment for it, so it's not correct to try to review that completely distinct product. We must instead review this for what it is... an advertisement. If you enjoy advertisements, you can consume them for free on the web or on Youtube without needing to add them to your game library, download them, and then launch the advertising. It's impossible in a general sense to recommend people should do that over playing real, full games on Steam, and that applies here with "Ashes Of Idunn: Tales Of Fimbulwinter" too. This is only free in the same way that adverts on Youtube and banner ads in your browser are. This is a game demo that's been dumped on Steam to advertise another Steam store page in the hopes of raking in some cash. Just because advertisements are free, doesn't mean they're worth your time. It's important to understand there's a formal process to create a demo/page for a game which hasn't been followed here: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/application/demos While it might seem like an inocuous mistake, publishing demos and advertisements as if they are full games is misleading and in some ways harmful. This advertisement is taking up marketing space and visibility that would be better made available to a developer that's done the right thing and created a full game. Instead, that visibility is given over to a demo/advert that's been published incorrectly and is polluting the marketplace. It's unclear if this mistake was made through incompetence or a deliberate intent to mislead gamers (but these are NFT crytobros, so I'm leaning towards the latter). Often developers may choose to incorrectly publish demo/advertisements as separate games as a cheap way to bypass paying Valve for marketing presence on the Steam front page, which may seem clever to them, but it's harmful behaviour and it's not good for gamers. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Advertisements and incorrectly published demos don't add +1 to your game collector count, they aren't full games. It's impossible for me to recommend this incorrectly published advertising spam to gamers, you deserve better than adverts. Don't waste your time with this advertisement for NFTs.

Great demo from Mad Viking Games, can't wait to play the full game and the card game. The sound, design and dynamic is amazing. Well done Team MVG Not a crypto miner game.

This is a demo. There are bugs and glitches. But the game's got potential. The graphics look good. It could become an interesting world, but it still requires lots of work. It's not a crypto miner, like some other reviewers claim. The reason for the 100% GPU utilization is because it is currently poorly optimized, and lacking graphics settings, that allow you to create a trade-off between graphics and performance.
