The play is difficult nut not to difficult. Lots of Co_op. The designers actually play and are involved.
Needs better ship control instead of autopiloting insta travel everywhere. Also, moving around in stations isn't really well done. Crashed on me while clicking around in station menus. Was probably not ready for release. That was on Windows. Doesn't seem to work on Ubuntu, legal agreement is empty, "agree" button grayed out. No way to get into the game.
so after 4 years of being out, logging in auto docks you and freezes your ship(attempting to move ship before autodocking happens causes infinite speeds, which still freeze you at dock), repeat infinitely, grab mission to drop off passengers, to also freeze above dock(atleast i got the piddly 400 credits), mine asteroids that are going all over the place requires nonstop use of anchor... wouldnt your ship move with the asteroids in the belt?
really big space
Nope..... not joystick friendly.... where's the point in such a game without at least a half-working joystick / hotas support? No ingame key bindings, poor descriptions on the very sparse settings available at the launcher. I refuse to play any flight or space game that includes a cockpit view without a joystick. This game literally demands that you trial and error with the settings meaning: Setup some bindings, start the game, try it.... end the game and start over just to find out the ship is still not doing what you tell it to do. Thanks but... NO THANKS! Then reading other reviews and the fact that the devs obviously don't maintain the game anymore .... thumbs down! ...tutorial world looks like something from the late 90s or early '00s. Just glad i only paid 1 or 2 €.... should have bought a beer or something instead.
It Be Bad. 4.5/10 - An Official Peekoo Review
Looks great,
I love this game and think if more people gave it some time that it could be something great. There is no Discord that I know of and I think if there was one, it could bring more players back into the fold. The mechanics for mining and planet scooping are something I still have never seen done quite as well in any other game. The fact that you can forever leave your mark on the game if you are the first to find a new planet is amazing( I have a few). One single shard universe that allows for building stations in space and upgrading them to your own style is a great additive. The colonization and building on planets is time consuming but well worth it. Realistically, this should take time and effort. I believe that this game is going in the right direction, slowly for sure but still going. I think this so much that I would be willing to use my free time to volunteer to help promote and develop this game.
If you've played EVE Online and don't like PVP, this is probably the best alternative. The game is not free, but at this time, purchased through Steam, get 3 months Premium membership free. The Premium price is a fraction of what EVE Online charges. There is a little bit of a learning curve. Not enough players, but that can change if those interested would come on board. Kudos to the developer. Needs to keep politics out of the forum. Now I'm at25+ hours into the game. Still loving it. Room for improvement, but so much more relaxing and enjoyable than PVP space games. I hear there are updates in the works. If you are like minded and don't mind helping it grow, come aboard. :)
