The animated trailer is what drew me in. I thought it was a single player, story-based campaign. When I found out it was a strategy board game, I was a bit disappointed at first...but that didn't last long as I tried out the game and ended up loving it. The art is beautiful, the music is immersive, and the characters and the mechanics are engaging. And for those who want lore, if you go looking, it's there. For a game which has a lot of cute animals and a beautiful animated aesthetic, the story and characters are gritty. This premise is fuelled by the politics of a kingdom whose king has been driven mad by a corrupting force known as Rot. As their king passes increasingly cruel laws with every subsequent day, the members of the various clans fight to complete quests as they try to grab the crown for themselves. Some try to rid the king of Rot, some fight him head on, some wait for his death while gaining renown and yet others take the throne by becoming even more corrupted than him. If you get this game, know that Armello is about using the hand that gets dealt to you and preparing to change your strategy on the fly - especially in the beginning when you don't fully understand the game. RNG can be fickle and the other players can and will interfere, but as long as you aren't precious about using cards and items and ready to try new things, you'll do just fine. As you play more you start to get a grasp of exactly what aspects of the game can be controlled by the player - this is when you will be able to predict and set up the situation to give yourself the best chance of surviving the RNG mechanics as well as what other players throw your way. It is worth mentioning that some of the amulets and 5 spell cards (Yordana's) are locked behind DLC - but otherwise, everything else is available in the base game. The achievements don't need DLC either, so you can get the base game knowing that 100%ing the achievements is possible. It's incredibly fun and my congrats and thanks to League of Geeks for such a lovely game. I have enjoyed many hours of Armello and it has become one of my favourite games that I've ever played.

dlc 다질렀으니 본판만 사라고.. 같이 하자고 얘들아 캐릭터들이 매력적이고(퍼리충아님) 보드게임 기반의 게임 룰 자체가 재밌음. 다만 캐릭별 성능 편차가(특능의 강력함 정도, 스탯 분배의 고질적 하자 등) 존재하고, 오랜 기간 밸패가 이루어지지 않는 듯 보여 아쉬운 부분이 있음. 운빨 꽤나 타다보니 결코 경쟁적으로 깊게 팔 게임은 아님, 랭킹전도 없고 멀티에 핵이 은근 많음. 근데 친구들이랑 가볍게 하면 재밌을거같음 문제는 친구들이 안사서 이악물고 멀티 돌리거나 싱글 컴까기 해야함 도전과제 난이도는 몇몇이 상당한 편이나, 컴까기 선에서 100%가 가능함 한글화도 좀 어설프고 리뷰를 남기자니 아쉬운 부분이 많이 생각나는 게임인데, 단점 외의 많은 부분이 상당히 매력적이라서 취향이 맞는 사람에겐 아픈 손가락같은 게임이라 생각한다.

I thought this game would be bigger, but I was sadly disappointed. I wasn't expecting Age of Wonders or anything of the sort, but perhaps something with more... effort would've been great. It's fun for what is worth, but too limited by its online and multiplayer mechanics that suck the joy away. And the DLC cashbag is just insulting. Don't waste your time with this one, find better board games than this pretty-looking abomination. I give it a 6/10 out of principle alone.
Honestly a really fun game it runs great it perfect for the family or with friends the only downside is the multiplayer community is small but there is cross play so you can still find matches but it can take up too a couple of mins to find but i still do sometime find matches within 30sec ...in my personal opinion this game community is only small because of the timing the game was released cross play was a rare thing to see so the game didn't receive it in till much later in it life span....if you see this game on sale buy it and enjoy you won't regret it. it evens has a single player mode
A wonderfully charming strategy boardgame, while the game itself is simple and quick love how different endings can be achieved and I've gotten lots of time in just achievement hunting which has been both delightful and comically frustrating due to RNG. My only gripe is that in a normal game it's quite difficult to get any other ending than the prestige ending as the king dies a little too fast. Making the other endings also mostly only available if RNG is on your side which seems a bit counter intuitive to the flexibility in play styles.
An adventure boardgame with direct player conflict. Enjoyable.
