Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.14/day in the week to Aug 27 → 0.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Arma: Cold War Assault now runs on a modernized version of its original Poseidon engine: native 64-bit, Windows and Linux, support for ultrawide and high-refresh displays, full game-controller support, and a modern audio and networking stack, while it still plays exactly like the genre-defining original.
The engine is now open source
Bohemia Interactive has released the engine and game source code under the GNU GPL v3.0-or-later, in the spirit of id Software's classic source releases. Anyone can study it, build it, port it, and create with it. Game data and assets remain under Bohemia's Arma Public License Share Alike (APL-SA).
A free Demo is available on Steam if you want to try the engine before buying the full data and campaigns.
The full engine source code is available on GitHub — search for BohemiaInteractive/cwr

Ultrawide & any resolution: aspect-correct field of view; borderless, windowed, or fullscreen; selectable refresh rate and V-Sync
Modern rendering: new OpenGL 3.3 renderer with crisp scalable (TrueType) fonts
Full controller support: gamepad with deadzone/response tuning, plus fully rebindable keyboard, mouse and controller bindings
Modern audio: OpenAL backend with integrated voice chat (VON)
In-game mod manager: enable, order and download community mods from within the game (Bohemia's own catalog), no command line needed
New multiplayer back end: modern master server and in-game server browser (replacing the retired GameSpy service)
Open toolchain for creators: bundled tools for PBO archives, models, terrain, textures, sound and config, plus a standalone scripting evaluator and a Blender import addon

Over 2 million copies have been sold since its release.

Reviews
This game was a huge part of my childhood. For those who don't know, back then it was called "Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis". I remember getting the CD for the first time, I was instantly hooked. The graphics looked like GTA 6 for me back then, it looked so realistic :D Huge respect to Bohemia for remastering it and open sourcing the engine, this genuinely should be an industry standard for classic/old games. Companies still sell their old games, they never update them (broken or not), most of them have critical vulnerabilities in them, some games don't even launch without community mods. Let the community do their thing. If I remember correctly, it had wonky controls, it took you some time to get used to them. It was difficult sure but made it fun, the soundtrack is very enjoyable. If you play it now, the AI is 100% ass (good ole Arma) but what made the game unique at the time was the non-linear approach to the missions/campaign. No matter how many times you played the game, it was up to you how you approached it, it made the game very replayable. Mission editor was where the real fun was honestly. Creating your own scenarios, spawning tens and hundreds of units so you can play as a pilot and destroy them - creating stealth CIA black ops missions. Peak gaming. Even in Arma 3, most of my game hours are in the mission editor. The game often gets on sale, definitely worth it. 11/10 CLASSIC

Gutes Remaster Nur die Umlaute wie Ö Ä Ü und ß fehlen im spiel bitte fixen
I don't have any issue with the game itself, it's a good game, but in the remastered version there is no way to change the bind for the third person camera in settings (even when enabled), and since my keyboard does not have the numpad, I can't turn on/off the third person camera. I'm giving the "not recomended" review as there is a tiny chance that Bohiemia might see it and make a tiny update to fix it. So in short, good game, but the lack of one setting pushesh me to this point, as driving a car in first person is bad in my opinion. Edit 1: added missing "is" in the last sentence Edit 2: As it turns out, I'm blind, as I hadn't noticed that option in the settings up until I had booted up the game for the second time after one user pointed it out on my community post regarding this non existent issue. So this "review" was on Not recommened for one hour and I'm changing it the Recommened, as this game deserves it. In short, there was no issue with the game, only with me not seeing something that was clearly there
Мой батя еще в эту игру играл
un juego muy bueno y barato esta muy bien logrado
No real controller support. I can't play it. Sounds like it would have been a great game.
Моё увожение, дали бесплатно ремастер, а я даже и не заметил.
Péssimo jogo, simplesmente tenebroso. A jogabilidade é confusa e HORRÍVEL. Mirar e atirar nesse jogo é igual a bater na mãe. A história é maçante, desinteressante e, sinceramente, não me prendeu nem um pouco.
Most fun game of all time
