ARK: Survival Ascended

I have over 1500 hours in Ark Survival Ascended and Ark Survival Evolved across my Steam and Xbox account. I have been playing Ark since 2019 and it is by far my favorite game. However, the game has been becoming worse and worse with every release of new content ever since they decided to abandon ASE. It costs over $200 to buy the game and all of the DLCs. They are completely overwriting the lore of ASE with ASA even though ASA is meant to just be a remaster of ASE. Almost all of the creatures they have added recently have been fantasy creatures even though this is intended to be a game about taming dinosaurs. The state of ASA is so bad that when I do want to play Ark I play ASE instead of ASA. This game is not worth the money, the publishers are just trying to milk the franchise for all that it is worth which is evident by multiple DLCs only giving you access to one tame. ASE had 2 DLCs, one was developed exclusively by Snail instead of Wild Card and is the worst map to ever be released on ASE or ASA, the other DLC gives access to 5 more story maps and a ton of map special tames. ASA has a total of 9 DLCs pumped out in the span of 3 years. Additionally, mods used to be installed via the steam workshop, but now mods are downloaded in game for console crossplay, but they have implemented a feature allowing mods to be monetized. They are monetizing every single aspect of this game which was initially supposed to be a free update to ASE instead of a separate $45 game. The publisher Snail Games is a terrible company that milks every single dollar out of their games. The developers used to fight Snail and make good additions to the game, but now they have just rolled over and are letting Snail kill the game. If you want to play Ark don't bother with ASA. The only thing that ASA does better than ASE is the graphics, but ASE still has wonderful graphics and doesn't suck ass to play while attempting to take all of your money.

I have 200Gb free space, but can't install the 1-3gb updates they do every other day. I have to uninstall the game to update. I only have this problem with this game specifically. Just kind of seems like poor programming to me.

每次更新都得预留游戏本体两倍以上的空间，对于我这种1T空间但是分了D E两个盘的入简直是噩梦。我不知道这恶意占用内存是何意味，是何机制，我只感觉我的游戏体验超级差。游戏本身优化又极差，各种bug更是层出不穷 ，我实在是不知道通配符一天都在优化些什么，又在莫名其妙占用内存做什么。这游戏我通关了本体，但也就止步于此，短时间是不会再碰了。。。

220Gigs + . Installed it. Go to play there is a update. Not enough space to update. Removed and reinstalled and it installed. 2 days later another update same thing. What the hell are we doing? You earned this negative review. Terrible.

STOP UPDATING EVERYTIME I OPEN THE GAME!!!

Why do i need 300GB free disk space for a 70MB update, which proceeds to take 2 hours because every gamefile is being patched???

Well here's my review wish it was pretty and I wish I wasnt so pissed off right now....... Ive played sometime into this game. Ive learned how to make my own servers and beat my head against bricks to do it. In doing so everytime cubecoders or wildcard drops an update it crashed everything, Ive started over multiple times in my worlds building breeding to be at 0 again.... now im on docker and afyer the genesis update and their constant hotfixes and now this summer bash crap runs of updates they have crashed everything again. No mods are working. Causing my servers to not run due to failed loops in mod download. So again ive lost all the dinos Iand buildings and failed mayerial i had trying to clean it up and refresh. I do not recommend this game at all wish I could I love it so dam much but now Ive lost my players ive lost my passion and im tired of my money going into thin air. Im tired of having a 400 gb download for 1 game.........this alone is making me not play any game at all. So im glade wildcard doesnt care about consumers or their products and i will go find something else to with my time......

This game was promised to us as a free update 3000 years ago. Now even the Ubisoft CEO would have fever dreams about the current monetization of this studio's game. They dangle DLC dino's in front of you like you'd dangle a double cheese burger in front of a homeless man saying "Just buy it and you can have it :) " Even with the discount its prolly 100$ worth of dlc you're looking into (paid gamemode are not shown here)

Would not recommend this game. Patches to fix patches break other parts of the game. Game has enough issues as it is. Constantly making pay to win content on top of a broken base game. Cheaters and bugs are a norm for this game. Releases are always delayed with little to no update of the causes of these delays until day of release or even after release time. DLC's are overpriced for the share lack of content. Purchase at your own risk of disappointment.

Games fun, but you'll spend more time re-installing it than actually playing it.
