ARK and ADE

If the Matrix and Super-Hot made an arcadey-retro love child, you get ARK-ADE and it's chaotically amazing. I did receive a copy for free to stream it and test it out. I was blown away at how complete and challenging the game was! Plus, the leaderboards keep you coming back for more to improve your scores...just like the good ol' days of arcades -> gotta get your name as close to the top! The dev team is VERY active in listening to user-feedback. They're constantly providing enhancements to the game. It's tons of fun and you won't paying the $20 price tag on it.

Its a prety fun little game that I bought very cheap. What I do not like : -That at the end of every level there´s a boss, and a very similar one in all levels ( so far ). -And the lack of personalization ( like a shop where you could expend points in guns, skins and so on ) -Playing with 2 guns is very fun, this powerup should appear more often. -That you cannot reload presing any button, only with hand gesture ( which after half hour or so is exhausting ). [h1]A TRON-like Bullet-Hell VR Shooter That Is Extremely Fun![/h1] If you're a fan of stylish, high-octane bullet-hell arcade VR shooters, ARK & ADE is a must-play. The game impressed me right from the start with its TRON-like visual style, delivering a neon-drenched aesthetic that is both modern and nostalgic. The way you get sucked into the arcade cabinet from the basement, was just super cool to see in VR. The vibrant colors and simplistic graphics perfectly complement the fast-paced arcade gameplay and looks very pleasing in VR. [b]Shooting Mechanics & Enemies[/b] The arcade-style shooting mechanics are very satisfying in this game that give nods to various arcade games from the 80s and 90s. Weapons are given to you like Metal Slug, shoot the upgrade powerup in the air and you will receive the new weapon with limited ammo. Once the ammo is depleted, you get your main pistol blaster back. The difficulty is fair, striking a perfect balance between challenge and enjoyment. There are lots of enemies to shoot and enemy types have quite a lot of variance ranging from normal humanoid beings armed with laser pistols and shotguns to drones that shoot rockets at you. The game keeps you on your toes without feeling too overwhelming. [b]Boss Fights[/b] There are boss fights in ARK & ADE which are a highlight of the game, providing some of the most engaging and fun moments. Each boss encounter is uniquely designed for that particular level that give good variety to the gameplay and visuals. Boss fights are well designed and feel satisfying when you complete them. [b]Gamemode Variety[/b] The game offers a rich variety of content. With numerous levels to conquer, an endless mode that plays like Pistol Whip, and a survival mode where you battle waves of enemies in an arena, there's plenty to keep you engaged. Each mode adds its own unique twist, ensuring the gameplay remains fresh and exciting. [b]bHaptics Integration[/b] ARK & ADE has one of the best utilization of bHaptics I have encountered. Right from the moment when you select a level and you get sucked into the machine, the vibration of the vest and what is happening is VERY cool and gives a sensation that you are actually getting sucked into the machine. The vest vibrates as if your clothing is fluttering in the wind as you travel quickly forward into the machine. This alone is extremely cool and causes a bit of a thrill. [b]Overall[/b] Overall, ARK & ADE stands out as a top-tier arcade VR shooter. Its stylish visuals, fair difficulty, and diverse modes make it a game that keeps me coming back to. Highly recommended for anyone looking to immerse themselves in a visually striking and action-packed experience.

I played the demo and enjoyed it enough to buy it. I'm not sure how to categorise this other than a rail shooter except that you are able to move around. However.. The Ark forces you to keep moving forward preventing you from taking cover from the enemies. Pros - The game has an 80's arcade vibe with some Tron essence to it. - The soundtrack is pleasant. - Nice variety of enemies, abilities and weapons - Nice player / Level stats - Nice immersive grafx. Cons - Some performance issues when doing boss battles. Even with a system that far exceeds recommended specs - Only one game mode which can affect re-play value. The CONs can easily be resolved as this game progresses and grows. I purchased it on Sale and really enjoy playing it. It's also a great game to introduce friends into VR.

$3 for this one, tops. Yeah... it was ok. I got this on sale for $9 and I don't think it was worth it. I don't really care/want to replay this. The replay mechanics don't really appeal to me. The 'great soundtrack' tag got me, but I don't think that's the case. Repetitive enemies. Secrets that (for a first time player) may as well be totally random. Locked paths is annoying. Some cool weapons, some cool bosses, but I've played a lot of RPGs that have that, and also a compelling binding narrative and/or expansive beautiful environments. ArKAde has neither. It was just kind of a shooting gallery that you're supposed to be able to get through in about 5 minutes per level. It's not that I disliked it, I just know my gaming time would've been better spent elsewhere.

Of the 30 or so VR titles I've played, this is one of the best. It's great to just jump in, play a couple levels, and jump out. You have controller locomotion, so it's not a rail shooter, but very much so takes a lot of beats from them. You just blast through a level, trying to go fast, not die, and look for secrets to extend your score. It's pretty simple, and the controls are done well. It pays a lot of homage to games I grew up playing. Honestly, I can't believe there isn't more hype around this game.

This is a very nice looking game, and it can really get tough! The mechanics are pretty great, and there are enough interesting paths to keep replay an option. Plus the secrets are pretty fun to find! My only complaint is that sometimes the game is a little less clear on what you're supposed to do. I noticed that if you're stuck on a certain objective it will try to give you signs on what to do in order to clear that part of the level, but they're not immediately obvious with all of the action going on. So far I've been playing this on normal, and it's not a walk in the park, which is kind of a relief. I can only imagine how hard it is on the next to levels up! The two-tone graphics aesthetic is balanced well enough to not be an eyesore, which is great. The boss fights are a little hard if you're staying on top of what is going on, which can be a little challenging and there is some boss cheeze that happens but it reminds me a lot of old school consoles that had some limited AI, so I can appreciate it a bit. I wish that the game had a little more dynamic ramping up in difficulty, but overall I'm pretty pleased with it. I did play the demo and I got the full version when it was on sale, and I think it's worth it for a good VR experience. The guns feel great, the action is engaging, and beating bosses does feel a bit satisfying to get through them. When you get past the first two stages, the designs really become a lot of fun. I'm glad the developer is putting out new and more difficult content in order to keep the game fresh. If you haven't played this game or don't own it, I highly recommend at least downloading the demo and getting it as a part of your library.

This really is an excellent game , quite possibly the best shooter game in VR. I would describe it as a combination of super hot + far cry3 blood dragon (without the open world aspect) This is not like most EA titles it is very polished and basically a triple A game within its limited scope (arcade shooter) even in its current state (04/04/2022). Hopefully the game will improve further such as adding unique end of level bosses or additional game modes / levels but given the quality of what is here already that would be the just icing on the cake :)

Been enjoying this since it came out. I feel this is a must have for every VR enthusiast!

Really nicely designed shooter arcade that I have been looking for in VR. Amazing visuals and gameplay creates a really immersive experience. Would love to see possibility for co op in the future.
