Apotheon Arena is the free online-multiplayer complement to the mythic Greek action RPG, Apotheon. Pit your skills with spear and shield against other players in brutal bronze-age combat. Battle across the statuesque arenas of Olympus, depicted with beautiful black-figure pottery artwork.

THIS IS HOW YOU PLAY WITH FRIENDS I have spent an entire day with a friend trying to figure this out. If you are typing in your friends IP and it is returning "0.0.0.0:14242" It is because you must enter the IP in decimal form. If you search on google "IPV4 to decimal", you will find many converters. I personally also setup port forwarding to my PC for 14242. It is setup as TCP/UDP, im not 100% sure if you need to but I did it anyways. BUT HERE IS THE SECOND TWIST... You have to reverse the IP's order before converting. EXAMPLE If my external IP is: 36.24.12.48 i must enter into the converter: 48.12.24.36 You will get a big number with no dots. enter that in and it will work.
"Apotheon Arena" is mostly an advert for the game "Apotheon". It's a dead multiplayer brawler with an ancient Greek art theme. In fairness, the art theme is done well and the gameplay itself is reasonably well polished... but the netcode and connectivity stuff is a broken, half-baked mess that barely works. To actually play this multiplayer game with other people, you'll have to contort more than the 2D ragdoll characters in the game. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. This game is ancient, it's over 10 years old... it's heavily dated and isn't going to give you a remotely contemporary gaming experience... another reason for gamers to be hesitant about adding this to their libraries. As an advertisement, this is only free in the same way that adverts on Youtube and banner ads in your browser are. This is a game demo that's been dumped on Steam to advertise another Steam store page in the hopes of raking in some cash. Just because advertisements are free, doesn't mean they're worth your time. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.

game good
I just want to point out that, even though the multiplayer for this game is dead, you can still play a match against bots and that will allow you to try out the combat system, in case you are thinking about purchasing the Apotheon single player game.
good fun
