"Apathy In Our Stars" is a godawfully bad mobile app that's been dumped on Steam for god knows what reason. In this mobile app, the player takes on the role of a character who has been in cryogenic sleep for a very long time and awakens to a galaxy that has changed. The goal is to buy freedom, upgrade a spaceship, and save the galaxy. Certainly the title is apt, playing this made me feel a mountain of apathy. In a lot of ways this is trying to be a thematic ripoff of Star Control 2, but with almost all the gameplay removed, terrible dialogue, awful plot, and MS-Paint "art". I guess the mobile app gamers loved it, I don't know. The whole thing looks like a Flash game reject. In terms of visuals, this features really godawful MS-Paint tier "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. The deplorably bad visuals here come across as an insult to gamers. This is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 2 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.

this game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome

A great game with a lot of heart. The art style provides a unique charm and the designs feel original, I feel like you can clearly tell this game was made by somebody with a creative voice, and it shows through the writing and art assets. The systems at play are more complex than they might initially appear as well. The game features standard turn-based ship combat but the depth in the market place mechanics and the fairly expansive map lead to a lot of places to explore and grow your coffers. Well worth your time in my opinion.
