Get ready to experience your cheapest deaths ever, even by retro-game standards. You have to hate yourself in order to like this game.
If you like classic pac-man it's basically that but if it was a 2d platformer
A very short but sweet indie game that borrows from old school arcades. The Pacman and Donkey Kong Jr nods are what stood out to me immediately. Despite this, Annalynn stands out as its own game. It doesn't just feel like a rehash of old concepts, but rather a creative fusion with unique charm. The campaign is short enough to speed run while also having replayability via achievements, some cheats that let you modify snake positions or even have multiple of the same kind, a hard mode, and more.
I didn't find anything special here - it's a basic platformer with a pacman style of objective. I didn't find much to really love or loathe and therefore given the price point is so low I think that's worthy of a thumbs up. So while I wouldn't personally pay more than a few dollars for a title like this, it just so happens in this case a few dollars is all they're asking. If you still get mileage out of a basic platformer experience then go for it!
I love Annalynn! It's a super fun arcade game! Thanks for such a great game :D
A fun arcade game. Lots of polish here. Wouldn't feel out of place in a real arcade. Easy to pick up and play for a few minutes at a time.
The amount of metaphorical quarters I've put into this game has got to be in the few hundreds. A wonderful pastiche of the 80s arcade experience if you already love it-- and a great way to learn how if you don't already.
Having played untold hours of Mappy as a kid, I'm so happy to have relived that same joy playing Annalynn. The platforming is a challenging but fun experience; trying to get the gems and avoid the snakes! I still have to beat the game with no continues, but I'm glad that it's accessible enough to see the ending (a nice surprise for an arcade game!). And I haven't even gotten into the extras, which are quite the reward after a first playthrough! This game is a love letter to the Namco arcade classics; from the music to the charming cutscenes.
An extremely charming game with fun mechanics, nice graphics and cute cutscenes. Unfortunately it was way too difficult to be enjoyable to me. There are a lot of ways this could be balanced but I think my main problems are: 1. Snakes exit portals way too fast, I think it would be nice if their portal speed could be, like, halved, otherwise it just feels like you have no control over the game whatsoever and you die randomly to a snake that just decided to spawn on top of you 2. There is no real middleground between "beat the game without losing once" and "you are immortal and can never lose" (which doesn't even qualify as a "game" to me). I wish there was a proper way to beat the game without such high stakes, for example, be able to beat each zone separately without continues (and get achievements for that).
