Jack Dragon is a retro game love letter to 80 and 90s arcade games. Avoid nasties, jump on platforms, glide around the screen and collect gems! Sounds easy, right?

Lovely game with a fun retro feel. The music is a real highlight and reminiscent of Bubble Bobble, whilst the game play is similar to BombJack. The game is a steal at this price. It plays perfectly on the ROG Ally, so I will be taking this on holiday with me.
This is a really nice hommage to old arcade games like Bomb Jack and Bubble Bobble. Personally, I'm a big fan of those games were you had to eliminate all enemies in a static screen - other fun examples include Mr. Do's Castle, Rodland or Snow Bros. With that in mind, I'm happy to report that Jack Dragon pretty much nails replicating those classics with its own take on the idea. Visuals, music and gameplay gloriously emulate the style of the olden days. The only thing I'm not so fond of is some of the big letters that show up on clearing a level for example, as I think their hand-drawn style is a bit out of place - I'd expected a more blocky typeface, like in the title screen of the game itself. Other than that, I hardly have any nits to pick - a welcome addition would maybe be separate online leaderboards, to add a modern twist to the game. Oh, and as a big fan of achievements, I'd like some of those too, please! Let's see what the developer comes up with next :D
Peace and love - peace and love! I'm not great at games - not any games - but that doesn't stop me having a ton of fun on Jack Dragon. This is definitely a tribute to certain 80s arcade titles that were ported to home computers. This game actually makes a bit more sense than games like Bomb Jack while having the same very playable 'jump n grab' mechanic. The little dragon is as manoeuvrable as you'd like and there are 3 difficulty levels. As far as I can tell this is a game without bugs at release - which only enhances its old school credentials and although it is a fairly casual game its not like a mobile title crammed with ads and crap. My spoiler-free story summary would be that Jack is something of a 'Robin Hood' character and you're collecting the wealth of the land and/or a magical peace crystal to to restore some fairness to all. Thats the bit that makes more sense than Bomb Jack! The music will not thrill every prog rock fanatic but it is delightfully care-free and cheery as you guide Jack on his numerous missions to 'scale' the heights and defeat the dangerous villain. Enjoy!
An instantly-cheerful clever formula, this thing is so elevated by its aesthetic I really like it!!!
Cute little arcade game to spend some time on here and there.
Works perfectly on Steam Deck and desktop Linux via Proton. Excellent casual arcade experience for the Deck. Endearing retro arcade game that shares Bomb Jack's movement mechanics and level design ethos, with crystals to collect instead of bombs. This non-violent gameplay makes this an action-puzzle game as each level's adorable monsters have to be avoided, leading you to optimise your play style on repeated attempts. Be an extremely cute dragon. Hover awkwardly. Collect crystals. Defeat the cartoon embodiment of capitalism as it literally tries to crush you with its wealth.
Loved this game! It has a great retro vibe, perfectly balanced, and super fun. Easy to pick up and play, it's perfect for a quick blast when you have some time to kill. Even after completing it, I keep coming back for more. [Plays perfectly on Steamdeck]
This is a love letter to retro arcade like Bubble Bobble and Rainbow Islands but with an even more minimal gameplay, and the jump-catch mechanic is addictive. At first sight I thought this game wouldn't be in my tastes, but if you start playing is one of those "ok, one more d**n try" games. Only complaint I have is the active game elements blend too much with the backgrounds. Bonus points: it made me swear in my native neapolitan language many times in a short while :V
As per the the tags, Jack Dragon is a retro 2D platformer in the vein of Bomb Jack. Jack is a cute little blue dragon. I like to think they’re an ice dragon. Do not let the cuteness fool you. The baddies may seem simple in movement but are bastards that get in your way and make you run down the clock to avoid. Fortunately, there’s a freeze power-up on nearly every level to help as needed. You may also adjust the difficulty level. To master the game, you’ll need to become a pro at jumping and flapping. It’s a nice touch that you can halt a jump by tapping jump/flap and watch Jack Dragon nose dive to the ground. My only wishes would be names for the enemies, more enemy types, and an indicator that my Gem Chain is about to be broken. Otherwise, excellent game, worth the fiver. Just when you believe you beat Boss Moneybags, there’s still more to play. Enjoy!
Love this game, it's a fun cute little retro platform arcade game with that just one more go vibe if you mess up!
