Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures

As a longtime AVGN fan, this game absolutely nails the spirit of the show — every level is packed with references, the chiptune soundtrack is genuinely excellent, and the vulgar humor lands more often than not. That said, be warned: the death blocks are relentless and will test your patience in ways that occasionally cross the line from 'intentionally hard' into 'cheap.' The controls are surprisingly tight and responsive though, which makes the difficulty feel more fair than it has any right to be given how many times it kills you. If you go in knowing it's a love letter to retro frustration and you have any affection for the Nerd, you'll get exactly what you came for.

The Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures is geen verkeerd spel, maar het is wel enorm pittig. Je zult je vaak ergeren aan het spel, maar op zo’n manier dat je toch door wilt spelen. Er zit genoeg afwisseling in elk level en dat is goed gedaan. Het is leuk om elementen uit oude spellen terug te zien en om met andere personages te spelen. Als je fan bent van de serie, dan is dit spel zeker aan te bevelen." Pretty basic, but pretty good for a youtube creator merch game

Every stage is so well done, it's difficult but rewarding, it feels great to play, and it has EASILY the best death screen in video game history. It captures the spirit of hard NES games and the AVGN youtube series perfectly. Unfortunately the game does seem to have some issues with crashing that must be hardware specific. I played this over a decade ago with no crashes but in 2025 this crashes on one computer I have consistently on a certain boss fight and my other computer has no issues. If it works for you, it's a fantastic game.

It's difficult and the level design is a bit primitive, but it is an excellent homage to AVGN series.

This is just a basic Megaman styled 2d platformer but with loads of AVGN references. It's hard as balls, but never feels undoable outside of the final boss who is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of ♥♥♥♥. Has cool level themes, tight controls, and a banger ost. No other steam game lets you play as Mr. 10 incher ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Mike, so I'd recommend.
