About
Siobhan awakens from a dream at the highest point of the island Rashinmore. Rashinmore was once a quiet and warm community, games were played and friends were made. Nothing bad would ever happen here, but things change. In the last week a disappearance has left people lost and devastated. Everyone wants answers, but the ones in charge don't seem to have a clue. If they're not going to lift a finger to find out whats going on, who will...?
Things feel different when the sun goes down... is there something hiding in the dark?

A very cute concept with beautifully haunting art, but unfortunately I can't recommend this game. Played a little more than an hour but most of that was relaunching the game over and over again because it kept crashing on me. Finally got to a point where the game would just launch into a crash over and over again and I couldn't progress even if I was willing to put up with the neigh constant crashes. Happy to revisit the game again when it's been fixed but at the time of writing I can't even get through the plot, which is the main selling point of this game, so I can't advise anyone else to do the same.
Great game with a beautifull art style and a engaging story. One of those rare indie gem that you will remember. Good job to the dev.
For the first two and a half hours, An Aisling is a fantastic game which I think is right up there with Night in the Woods. And then it just ends in a very abrupt way. I tried to replay the ending to check if I missed some possible actions or story bits during the ending sequence, but the only available option was to start a new game. There are many missable interactions and side quests, so 2.5 hours is the playtime without doing most of the optional content. The game has obvious similarities to NitW, from the general gameplay style down to details like doing a bit of parkour to find NPCs hanging out on rooftops. There are great stylized graphics, an eerie setting of something unknown creeping into the quiet life of a small community, trippy visions, and goofy minigames to play when hanging out with friends. Oh, and animal suits instead of anthropomorphic animals. So bizarre and funny moments are guaranteed, and many of them are done perfectly. The game has a couple of nice puzzles of the kind action-adventures can be so good at, where we have to follow vague directions or figure out how we're supposed to interact with things. There's also a fun hint system. I didn't quite like the inventory management UI. There's no way to examine or quickly unequip an inventory item. Using an item is automatic, which can be confusing (like with the mouse queen, especially if I hadn't talked to her before obtaining the item). Some experimentation is required when interacting with things (like the elevator) because Use/Cancel buttons can be different for different interactions. There's only one platforming sequence during the main quest which can turn out to be difficult, and that is partially because of the controls. I believe the issue is that if I tilt the left gamepad joystick a little up or down, that's interpreted as putting on the hood or crouching, so pressing Jump at that moment does nothing. After several tries, I ended up using the D-pad for that sequence. When I first tried the game a few months back, the game was so buggy that it wasn't fun to play at all. Now I've only encountered one minor bug, which doesn't affect the gameplay, namely, that occasionally a character starts moving sideways while facing the camera. Given the state the game was in, it's an impressive achievement. There are still some minor text issues though.
I'm really enjoying this game! I love the world exploration element, the different ways you can interact with other characters and the range of mini games. The music and the art are a highlight, it has a Ghibli-esque aesthetic feel to it.
Really love the animation and the character design & and the artwork so far! looking forward to playing more of this game and experiencing more of the mini games. Great game really enjoying it!
I played the demo and was intrigued, so I decided to buy the game. Glad I did, there's a lot more going on. I'm really liking the story and all the side/ mini game stuff.
It's disappointing because I can tell there is so much soul put into this project, but I cannot play it as I consistently encounter crashes that I'm unable to work around. I see that the developer is making minor bug fixes here and there, but it appears there is something deeper to the issues. From what little I've been able to play, the art, music, and writing is unique, fun and interesting. But I cannot recommend the game in its current state.
Ok, so it is a platformer-lite adventure game with mini games. The problem is that the game can't really decide what it wants to be. Pair it with the terrible controls and lack of help on what you should push, and it gets annoying really fast.
A good fun time. Does it's narrative and aesthetic pretty well. I really liked the music.
I've really enjoyed playing An Aisling. It's a really nice story line that engages straight from the start, and there is enough to do to keep me engaged and wanting to play more. I really enjoy the artwork and aesthetics of the game as well as the music.
