From the creators of Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Dear Esther comes a new first-person horrorgame that will drag you to the depths of greed, power and madness. It will bury its snout into your ribs and it will eat your heart.

Welp, I wish there was a neutral option for reviews. I don't even know where to begin. I guess I will start with the positives. The story in this game is fantastic, and that's really about it...I mean the voice acting is great, and the music is notable. But excluding those two mini bonuses, the gameplay is abysmal. I went into this game expecting a similar experience to the previous game when it came to the mechanics, only to find out every single thing from the threat of losing your sanity to running out of Lantern fuel, had been scrubbed. It is through and through a walking sim with a few boring puzzles in between acting as fluff to add to the runtime. Which, I should mention this game has a whopping 3 hours of content, and you can experience it for the small price of $20! I might've felt differently if its playtime was closer to the 10 hour mark, or if this was a DLC to go along with Justine from Amnesia: The Dark Descent. This review probably comes off as pretty negative as opposed to the "Neutral" opinion I shared at the start, but I think I am just upset over the wasted potential. My frustration mainly stems from just how cool this game could have been if they copy and pasted all of the mechanics that make The Dark Descent work and stamped them into this game. A sanity meter, fuel required to use the lamp, monsters that posed a legitimate threat. I feel like this game would have been remembered in a far more positive light than it currently is. Anyway, would I recommend this game? No. Unless you are playing through the entire series, which in that case I would wait for a sale. I just can't get over how amazing this game could have been if Frictional Games was fully working on it, but I suppose if this was the sacrifice that had to be made to give us Soma....it was worth it lol. 5/10. Again I see the appeal but it felt like one big missed opportunity to me, gonna go talk to myself and complain about it further.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I recently played Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, and honestly, it’s a pretty different experience compared to the first game. It focuses much more on story and atmosphere than on actual gameplay and puzzles. The setting is really strong. Walking through the dark, industrial areas of London feels creepy and disturbing in a good way. The sound design especially stands out — it keeps you tense almost the whole time. The story is deep and kind of philosophical, which I liked, but at times it feels a bit slow. The scares aren’t as intense as in the first Amnesia^^ and there are fewer mechanics to worry about, which might disappoint some people... But if you’re into narrative-driven horror with strong atmosphere, it’s still worth playing. Overall, I’d say it’s not as scary as the original, but it tells a powerful and memorable story.
Such a cool game that could be one of those underappreciated gems from forever ago. Unfortunately the game flat out doesn't work. Such a shame. The voice acting is phenomenal, the atmosphere is effective and I think the ending is very satisfying. But it's impossible to play this game without saving constantly or using the non-Steam version of it because it just crashes constantly at random times.
One of the best soundtracks for a game ever. Amazing writing too. Its hated only cause its not as good as Amnesia: The Dark Descent and it had huge expectations when it came out.
Ну что сказать 1 часть однозначно луче во всем кроме лора, лор мне больше понравился в этой части нежели чем в 1,скримеры слабые гнитушия атмосфера тоже слабенькая графон не плохой так 50 на 50 игра
I forgot what I was gonna say
If you get this in a huge sale, it’s worth it just for one playthough. It’s so much of a walking simulator even compared to other Amnesia games. The story is FASCINATING, don’t get me wrong, with some beautiful voice acting. But after one playthrough there’s no reason to play it again. It’s just not interesting of a story enough once you know what happens, and there will be zero difference between playthroughs, with very little gameplay and one ending.
Slightly weaker than the first game, but still a good addition to the series!
The best Amnesia title to this day.
