not a great game but enjoyable unlike its predecessor, the story is complicated but nice, they went too crazy with the pigs but it's a nice touch
Simply the worst game in the series, everything that made The Dark Descent terrifying is gone. If Frictional Games made the game it would've been solid. here's why : - The lantern is infinite and doesn't feel necessary - Being in the dark has no impact on your sanity or your visibility - You barely encounter enemies that can actually hurt you - No chase music so being chased doesn't feel scary - The game feels too linear and the areas are small so you never feel in danger - The notes are overly graphic and gore to the point it doesn't feel normal it feels forced to add shock value (probably to compensate the lack of fear) To conclude, 16€ for this is overpriced (got it for 8€ and even that feels overpriced). I wish Frictional Games remakes the game one day to make it feel like a true Amnesia game.

Did not hit like the dark descent
Loved the part where the town was attacked by the piglets.
I'm not a fan of horror and this game was my first real interaction with the genre. So, take my word with a grain of salt. But I believe this game is a letdown. Gameplay-wise, it's too simple to enjoy. In the first 1/3 of the game, there's not even any actual threat. In fact, I never died in my one and only playthrough, and while I felt like sneaking was the intended way to play, you can just... run past your enemies. There's no real mechanics beyond that, a few simple puzzles and a ton of walking. In terms of story, I'm actually somewhat satisfied with the story itself, but the horror felt a little bit... forced? I know, I know, but that's why I said I'm not a horror fan. It just felt like instead of genuine terror, the feeling of dread, hopelessness etc, we're faced with a ton of jumpscares and overly edgy descriptions of gore. Also, I'm extremely annoyed with how forced the powerlessness feels. We're facing humanoid enemies, why can't we just... pick up a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ firepoker? Or a shovel? Or whatever to be able to fight back in case we need to? I just don't understand why the main character can't do anything to defend himself and runs around unarmed.
