From the creators of Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Dear Esther comes a new first-person horrorgame that will drag you to the depths of greed, power and madness. It will bury its snout into your ribs and it will eat your heart.

Excellent psychological horror. Short but sweet. Playing at 2 in the morning makes it hit differently.
Average Tuesday in London simulator. Smoke, pigs, slightly annoying doors that refuse to open all the way. Dark, poetic, grotesque. Actually a pretty solid horror experience. Took me a little over 4 hours to finish. Gameplay is average, consists of simple puzzles and the occasional chase sequence or basic stealth section. Nothing great, but not horrible either. However, where the game shines is in its oppressive atmosphere and phenomenal storytelling. Don't expect game of the year, but still a very enjoyable experience. 7.5/10. BTW if you have issues with it crashing, try playing through the NoSteam.exe application file in the actual game files. Crashed quite a bit at first, but once I played through that file, zero issues :)

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

A step down from The Dark Decent, AMfP is essentially a walking simulator though a very atmospheric turn-of-the-century industrial London. The inventory has been removed, replaced with a lamp with infinite oil and puzzles that require only found (hand held) objects and hand-manipulations (turning, pulling, throwing). The game has received just criticism for its simplistic puzzles, toned-down enemies and lack of interaction. The story and atmosphere are its selling points and the game delivers both, with a creepy, hair-tingling vibe throughout. It doesn't evoke the same kind of fear that its predecessor did though, with the world feeling like a far less threatening place. This is mainly due to the tepid enemies, which aren't hostile at first and are soft-hitters when they become so. The story and world are compelling enough to warrant a thorough play through, if you're a fan of walking simulators. The quality of both are what you would expect from Frictional, but I will add that this is the first time I've played the game in 6 years, and there will be another significant break - if I decide to ever pick it up again at all. A walking-horror-simulator definitely worth picking up on sale, again if you like the format.
It's a very mild recommend. Mostly if you are interested in the amnesia universe. The story is interesting and does make you want to progress however around half way in I started to lose what was happening despite reading all the documents. I watched a plot explained video later and it is a fairly good plot, nothing amazing. The gameplay is walking simulator with light puzzle solving and very light sneaking sections. The environments, story, and emersion are what push you forwards but after about 2hrs when I lost the plot I was just going through the motions. It's short, I like games that don't outstay their welcome and if you have bigger brain than me and are following the plot you would probably enjoy its short tale. So for that reason it just about gets a recommendation.
This game feels very empty, barely any monsters, scares and even puzzles. It was a huge let down compared to Amnesia: The Dark Descent.
It's a video game... technically speaking. Not a whole lot of "play" happens. You kind of just walk through the game and dialogues occasionally happen. The interesting puzzles from the previous game are replaced with doors that are unlocked by keys which you'll find at the ends of short side paths. The thrilling level exploration from the previous game is replaced with linear levels interrupted by occasional short side paths with keys at the ends of them. Game's not even particularly scary. In fact, my experience with the first chase sequence was the monster bugging out and being unable to kill me. Boring and highly skippable.
The only word I can really think to describe this game by is 'Meh'. It's not like its a bad game. It's constructed well enough, but for someone like me who needs a little more substance in their horror media, it really isn't what I'm looking for. The gameplay is as basic as it can be, the story is fine, and the setpieces are alright. This would be good for someone new to the genre, not accustomed to the fear factor yet, someone who doesn't know the cliches. But for anyone past that point, you should look elsewhere.
Absolutely great story with a clearer plot, but it lacks the horror and atmosphere of ATDD. But also a VERY short game. 7/10
