From the creators of Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Dear Esther comes a new first-person horrorgame that will drag you to the depths of greed, power and madness. It will bury its snout into your ribs and it will eat your heart.

writing is much worse than TDD and the game has a lot of bugs and crashes

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs – A Poetic Nightmare Score: 8/10 If The Dark Descent was a haunted house that wanted to give you a heart attack, A Machine for Pigs is a disturbing novel that wants to rot your soul. It is one of the most well-written, atmospheric, and audibly terrifying games ever made. The story of Oswald Mandus and his industrial slaughterhouse is a masterpiece of "cosmic horror," tackling themes of guilt, the 20th century, and what it means to be human in an age of machines. The "Art" of Horror The Atmosphere: The setting—a steampunk Victorian London on New Year's Eve 1899—is incredible. The sound of the massive machine thrumming beneath your feet, the steam hissing from pipes, and the distant squeals create a constant sense of dread. The Writing: This game has some of the best prose in gaming history. The monologue at the end is legendary. It doesn't rely on jump scares; it scares you with concepts. It makes you afraid of what the main character has done, rather than just what is hiding in the dark. The Soundtrack: The score by Jessica Curry is hauntingly beautiful. The mix of industrial grinding noises and tragic cello music perfectly captures the sadness and horror of the story. The Flaws: It Forgot to be a "Game" However, you have to accept that this is barely a survival horror game in the traditional sense. Mechanically Hollow: If you loved managing your tinderboxes, oil, and sanity in the first game, you will be disappointed. They removed everything. You have an infinite lantern, no inventory, and no sanity meter. You basically just walk forward and open doors. The "Walking Simulator" Syndrome: The game is extremely linear. There is almost no exploration and very few puzzles. You are essentially walking through a ghost train ride. Not "Scary" Enough: The enemies (the Pigmen) are terrifying in concept, but easy to avoid. The AI is simple, and because the levels are so open, you rarely feel the claustrophobic panic of the first game. Verdict A Machine for Pigs is a narrative masterpiece trapped in a simplified game. If you go in expecting a hardcore survival challenge, you will hate it. But if you treat it like an interactive horror story—a dark, industrial tragedy about a man and his machine—it is an unforgettable experience. Status: A disturbing classic (just don't expect to fight for your life). 🐷⚙️
Интересная игра, но вообще не страшная. На фоне остальных игр серии очень слабо
dumb dumb
Really surprised by how much I liked this. The gameplay is certainly less important to this game than in The Dark Descent, but I found the story of this one almost more interesting. It's also very short, which is a good thing to me but maybe bad to others. The pigs scared me quite a bit as well, and there's some great and subtle psychological horror tricks the game uses at various points that honestly had me questioning if I was imagining it. I would recommend this if you like horror games and want a game with more of a focus on the story and less on gameplay. Only flaw was some cheap-ish jumpscares but they weren't too common. Very underrated game in my opinion.
Although quite short, A Machine for Pigs is a brilliant and beautiful game, insanely overshadowed and underrated over its predecessor. Sure, its not the usual Amnesia experience, but its such a genius and original concept that you should, atleast try once. They will make pigs out of us.
