What a miserable game. I tried to enjoy it, I did. I had to stop because this is one of the very few games that has triggered my vertigo. The maps are so incredible confusing. Seems to be inspired by Quake but the map design is so bad. Music is serviceable, but I found it to be more of an annoyance to have it on. The way the weapons work has to be the most frustrating part of the game. There is no CLEAR indication for when you are allowed to use a weapon if you have full mana/energy. Got to the second or third boss fight and I just couldn't take it anymore since the movement mechanics were killing me half the time not providing an ounce of forgiveness. If you do pick up the game, I high suggest turning off a number of HUD features if you have eye problems.
Grew up on Doom II, Duke 3D, Hexen, Serious Sam...loved and still love those games. This game has been hyped up to the heavens, had it on my wishlist for years, decided to pull the trigger. Right from the start, the difficulty select is a large, empty desert hallway segment. Retina-burning color saturation. Slippery movement. Little baby jump mechanic combined with every single gap being sized so you have to do it perfectly. Hi-def weapon models and textures juxtaposed with Doom 64-esque enemy models and terrain. Tutorial engravings on the walls show up in big letters in the center of the screen with no pause. 2 melee weapons, then the first ranged weapon you get fires homing shots so you can just blast without aiming and kill everything without ever having to worry about ammo. Huge, empty levels. No automap. Turok-style fog effects. Feels like playing an N64 game on an emulator. Gave it half an hour, don't feel like I'll ever want to go back to it. Does NOT live up to the monumental hype.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The good: - There's a weapon that nails enemies to walls - Runs smoothly - Some nice 3d-as-sprites trickery The bad: - Heavily inspired by hexen/heretic but none of the atmosphere - Enemies are hard to read, and their weaknesses even more so - Combat is unsatisfying, underwhelming hit feedback - hunting for keys was tedious in the 90s and 00's, and it still is today - lore is uninteresting and mixed with hints Just stick to brutal doom or brutal heretic.
This was a pretty fun boomer shooter with a medieval/magical fantasy type setting to it. Enemies and weapons are varied enough to keep you interested, difficulty was reasonable (for me)
a midevil?
Slaps
This has become a cosy game I replay sometimes. Love the consept and the mythical weapons
Went into this expecting more melee. This is more of a classic boomer shooter. Boomer shooters aren't my cup of tea.
Great fantasy based FPS. Seemed pretty well balanced at the medium-high difficulty. Smooth play and each weapon has a distinct personality. Soul power was a bit wonky to get used to
