Good atmosphere, nice puzzles and heavy Lovecraftian feel. Alone in the Dark is suberb at what it does which is to put you in the shoes of a 1920s detective that tries to solve a mystery about a family and it's affairs with unspeakable horrors. Not a fast paced game, it wants you to slow down and feel the vibe.
Pretty decent story and acting. Mean to be played twice. Great graphics and sound design.
Alone in the Dark is a pretty good game. It’s a real shame that Pieces Interactive shut down. After AitD, I would have liked to see more from them. The game kind of flew under my radar, which, in hindsight, is a real shame. How can I best describe the game's atmosphere? I'd say "Eternal Darkness." The game has a great atmosphere, and I think the mood and the story are among its greatest strengths. Anyone looking for just “good game- and gunplay” will be disappointed; the combat remains rudimentary, though it serves its purpose. As I said, the game’s strengths are its fantastic atmosphere, the dialog, and its puzzles. I'll remember this game as "very good," and it will become one of those games I'll definitely enjoy revisiting, like a cozy Indiana Jones movie.
You know what... this game is horribly BORING !!!!!!! 4/10 addictive: 3/10 graphic: 8/10 music: 8/10 +graphics are nice +achievements +cards -overpriced due to “big” actor's names in it -walking to the same rooms over and over again, trying to find things to put in previous rooms (just go for any Resident Evil or Silent Hill 2 if you haven't played it yet or something, going back and forward is more fun there) -even plot is boring... -no... just... don't...
The 90's version is WAY much better than this WAY too difficult remake. RAGEQUIT and REFUND!
Great game that pays respect to the original. I beat it multiple times to get all the achievements. I highly recommend it!
Meh
A bit rough around the edges, but overall an amazing story! I'll definitely buy the second part if they ever make one.
