Coordinate with your fireteam, leverage each class’s unique abilities, and adapt on the fly as encounters escalate from tense standoffs to all-out war. With deeper squad mechanics, smarter enemies, and a fully customizable Specialist class, AFE2 delivers the definitive co-op Aliens experience.

Join our Discord server, Marine.
Expanding from three to four players, AFE2 introduces deeper team-based mechanics that reward coordination and strategic class composition. New and improved classes each bring distinct playstyles and tactical abilities to the fight, making every squad combination feel different.
The iconic xenomorphs are more ferocious than ever before. AFE2's massive variety of new xenomorphs will force players to stay mobile, maintain situational awareness, and use every tool at their disposal. From stun batons for up close melee action in those most desperate moments, to pyro and electric ammo to whittle down the unrelenting xenomorph front before they overrun you and your squad, the battle can shift from calculated tension to desperate last stand in seconds.
Beyond expanded weapon and gear customization, AFE2 introduces the Specialist – a fully customizable class that lets players mix and match major and minor abilities from every available class. Build a loadout tailored to your exact playstyle and fill whatever role your squad needs.
AFE2 launches with multiple dedicated Horde maps that push squads to their limits. Battle through escalating waves of xenomorphs and other deadly enemies, earning increasingly valuable rewards as you survive deeper into the onslaught. This is where teamwork and skill are tested at their absolute peak.

It's pretty similar to the first game, so if you liked that one you will definitely like this sequel. As of writing (9/18/2026), there have been two major bug/optimization patches to fix the jankiness at launch and hopefully more to come. A lot of the negative reviews at launch seem to be from people who didn't play the first game because the things they're criticizing are also in the first one.
Games fine lmao. Lots of people complaining about length, theres 3 mission per each chapter each one takes like 30 minutes. And theres a horde mode unlocked afterwards that has 3 levels. People calling this a dlc when it has as much content as the first game are smoking Crack. The game does have issues, stuttering and if you end up glitching into the level or something youre kinda just screwed either your team beats the level while you sleeping or you leave.

I have to give this game a positive reveiw but only by the skin of its teeth. In camparison to the first game I would say it is a decent succesor but doesn't do anything groundbreakinly new. More weapons, an extra team member and a wider variety of enemies are about the only addition, as well as actually animated npc dialogue however their god awful corny dialogue and demeanor discredits that entirely. Gameplay wise, there are a lot of stutters and friendly and enemy ai seem to struggle with tasks and pathing even though they said they improved it from the previous game. I've also dropped out of a fair few games without any explainable reason. But that being said, I can't in good faith give a game an overwhelmingly negative review based on bugs that will probably be ironed out in the first few patches. What really pushes me to dislike this game is the price. With DLC, the previous game totaled a cost of around $55 Australian dollars. The base price for this game, without deluxe add ons or future dlc, being $80 AUD is absolutelty disgusting. Without any meaningful addition to the franchise or overall content of the series, I cannot see how they justify the price, especially seeing as how the first game wasn't a particuarly overwhelming success that would justify such a premium price. If you are a fan of the Alien franchise or enjoyed the first game, definitely give this a go, but absolutely wait for a steam sale and hope that servers aren't dead by then. Overall rating: 6.5/10 (Pre any bug fixes)
Oh man.
This game needs work. Writing is sub par, leaning heavily on the Alien franchise catch phrases, repeating them so much you consider bailing in the middle of a mission. First three characters you meet are butch lesbian looking characters, like the writers didn't know how to create anything else. The game should have been first person. They put you in tight spots with 3 other idiots constantly walking in front of your crosshairs for no apparent reason other than their ADHD. There is some light. The meat and potatoes of the gameplay is fun, but rough.
Had a great time from the get go playing this with my squad. Im not into conversing with the NPCs so much so they could have toned that down. But the actual game play is solid and fun. Great atmosphere and sound. Solid AI. Learnng curve is low. No major issues from me. Looking forward to playing through this. Solid price point as well.
Was it worth 49.99 at launch defiantly worth 30 or 40$ is it fun yes very fun is it optimized yes, I didn't play the first one so having a good time with this one.
I've had a blast with this game so far i'ts a blast with a mate.
I loved the first game and I'm really enjoying this one, but... There are performance issues galore, jittery animations, bugs aplenty, the social system's asinine, the story and voice acting is horrendous, and - at €50.00 - the game is well and truly over priced. Missions 2.1-2.3 may as well be the same mission (about as aesthetically diverse as a padded room). Finally, the toughest difficulties are too easy, even with moderately negative challenge cards. Horde mode is great, except for the trolls. If a host leaves after a full wave (5 waves in a full wave) via escape > abandon mission, all other players do not receive full rewards (I assume the same is true in the campaign). Cold Iron, fix this as soon as possible. Your game is fun, but we're already contending with poor optimisation, jittery animations, and bugs. We shouldn't have to worry about losing our rewards because someone wants to be a D followed by an I, a C, and a K. Also, implement a vote kick system and allow players to join missions already progress, regardless of whether they cue for a specific mission or via quick play. If a game is in progress and there's a spot, let them join that game. The positives? The game play is genuinely fun and there's a decent amount of content to keeping going through: not tons, but enough to keep you entertained. The soundtrack and sound effects are both very authentic. Playing the game with friends is a blast, especially if you're all already into the Alien franchise and can bang out some humorous quotes from the movies, i.e., "Marines! We are leaving!" While missions 2.1-2.3 lack diversity, you can't argue that they and the rest of the missions aren't true to the franchise: they would fit into any of the Alien movies (or other Alien games). There are plenty of weapons to choose from and the majority of them are viable. While there are generally agreed upon best perks and attachments, there's a huge amount of variety in building your own builds. Play to your strengths, not the meta. The only things I'll say about the attachments is that they need to be better balanced. There are probably 200+ attachments, and I doubt more than 20-30 of them will see regular use. I do recommend this game, and I will give it a thumbs up, but I also recommend waiting until the first hotfix and until the game goes down in price: even €10.00 less would be touching upon fair,. While Cold Iron would suffer initially, that dip in price would very likely bring in the fence sitters. €15.00-€25.00 less for the next week or two would be the sweet spot. However, I would suggest for Cold Iron to do this when releasing the first hotfix too: the game needs an influx of players. So... it's a good game, but has some serious issues.
It's certainly an Aliens game - the buildcrafting is pretty good although once you unlock everything for the Specialist you learn that there's a few choice abilities that stand above the rest. The story...kinda meh to me. The interesting parts weren't expanded upon at all. The writing/acting was annoying after the third mission. Especially when the dialogue options are all un-skippable and you just have to keep spamming buttons until you get through it. Not to mention you are forced to talk to 2-3 NPCs between each mission. Unfortunately, my setup is very old and out-of-date, so I can't really say anything about the graphics or performance. Even on the lowest settings I was getting stuttering, lag, and frequent disconnections. I'd give the game a 6.5/10 overall.
