Reviews
Slow paced mixture between AVP1 Marine Mission and Alien Isolation. Fantastic graphics (I'm able to play with raytracing) and deep atmosphere. Scope is small, don't await AVP 3, but if you like dark base corridors within the alien universe, you should have a good time.

13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 6: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Only one hour of gameplay and I'm already leaving a positive review? Yes. I seriously doubt the game is going to suffer greatly enough for me to change my position on this. The graphics are solid, not great. Gunplay is fairly simple and it's very reminiscent of Alien: Isolation over all, gameplay wise. But the firefighting kind of reminded me of Aliens: Colonial Marines to where it seems like your bullets aren't doing anything and the Xeno's just kind of explode. The documentations you read really builds the world around you and is a joy to go through and find. Video diaries are spread throughout and enjoyable to listen to as well. The game has amazing atmosphere. When I first stepped out onto the planet of Purdan, I was blown away by the world. I knew immediately that this game would be amazing in VR, but alas, I have no VR and this isn't the VR version. But man, this game definitely makes you want to get one just for this! The tension is also palpable throughout the compound as you explore and discover what happened here. I legit felt quite a bit of tension as I went throughout living quarters and work stations, not sure when a Xeno would finally face me. And another highlight for this game is the damn audio. When you pull out your motion tracker, it somehow makes the use of it seem dangerous, while at the same time adding to the suspenseful vibe the game has going for it. Even the music that plays in the background is freakin' eerie and really adds another layer of thrills. This game is going to be narrative heavy. With it being Aliens, I'm not sure why you'd want it any other way. Lots of backtracking, lots of locked doors which require differing levels of authorization, puzzles that require specific tools (Alien: Isolation callbacks), and collectibles. So far, nothing has really been hidden that your map doesn't show you, so the challenge really isn't there. Difficulty for combat also isn't that hard as your companion is able to wipe out most of the enemies for you, if you just smile and wave, dodge and weave. Overall, I have been enjoying this game quite a bit. It scratches that Alien itch as I wait for Isolation 2 to come out. It's suspenseful, fun, engaging, and the atmosphere is to die for. Though I myself am a fan of the Alien franchise - to an extent, I only enjoyed Alien and Aliens, the rest were meh - it goes without saying that just because I like the IP and this game, that doesn't mean you will. Worth the money, IMO.
