A beautiful, 3rd-person exploration game centered around two parallel stories: a fox trying to find her missing family, and a son reconnecting with his estranged father in Alaska. Uncover artifacts from the son's life as he becomes intertwined in the fox’s journey towards The First Tree.

Small indie team behinf this so I will try to be polite. Awful controls, bad voice acting and poor writing are the reasons I can't recommend this game. The general idea is ok but the execution is not. I like walking sims but this one is just below standards, even for an indie game.
Short but emotional walking-sim about grief, family, and reflection. The gameplay is simple, mostly exploring and collecting, but the beautiful atmosphere, music, and heartfelt narration make it a touching experience. Good for anyone who enjoys calm, story-driven games.
I had found this game years ago. His developer was showing a tutorial about Unity Engine in YouTube. I thought that was such a cool and kind thing he was doing that I immediately wanted to play his game. Well, I guess my expectations went too high... I'm convinded that if this story were released as a book with its beautiful 3D landscapes it would be hugely better than this clunky and superficial game. The story and message in it are good, but it'd been put in the wrong media I think.. or it misses a lot as a game. If there's something that drives me crazy in videogames, it's games released without proper polishing. And if a game is made by a single person, that doesn't justify anything. Before continuing, I'd like to talk about the photography in this game: it is awesome! There are these moments where you find the exact POV and take a screenshot that tells more than a hundred words (narrative related). — — — Now despite its beautiful and colorful maps, the game itself is boring most of the time. The gameplay is too much clunky and badly responsive. Chasing star lights that make nothing was not enough. And the narrative happens only occasionally. - Sometimes you see a rock intriguingly positioned or a bunch of scattered objects - or an entire house half buried - you run all the way to there and... there's nothing. - The soundtrack is pleasant with a beautiful piano and a violin, but unfortunely repetitive. - Once, something I did triggered something else somewhere, but I only heard a sound, which prevented me from figuring out what/where I was supposed to go. No light, no signal. - I had to replay an entire chapter because the game doesn't save the progress until the chapter is completed. Therefore, the game leaves much to be desired in terms of refinement and doesn't feel like a finished creation. Despite this, I would have loved to read this story as an illustrated book.
I had this game in my backlog for so long and wanted to play it, just to feel extremely disappointed when doing though (sorry, David!). I really expected the game to be an adventure game, but the adventure was very much limited to walking and finding ways to find all the collectables, which I failed in btw, since going "backwards" on the map is limited. Instead of PLAYING two parallel stories, only one of them is really playable. The voice acting was okay, but this game triggered several compyright claims on YT - a HUGE red flag for content creators. Even for the list-rice, I can confidently say, that there is better content available on Steam. Again, sorry, David. This did not fulfil my expectations of an adventure game. I have to admit though, the graphics ARE beautiful!
If this had been just a walking simulator with a story, I would have loved it. Simply following a path through nature, listening to relaxing music, and unraveling the story would have been a great experience. But the jumping and collecting, which are required to progress, as well as the lack of clear direction at times, made the game feel tedious rather than relaxing. Also, since I'm sensitive to sound, the complete lack of audio options was a major downside for me.
Вы играете за лесу, которая ищет своих пропавших детёнышей. Параллельно идут диалоги мужчины и его жены. Грустная история , особенно в конце игры . История про лису- это сон главного героя. История лесы и человека имеют общую цель. Потеря близких.
This has been in my backlog for awhile. I went in hoping for a better use of the animal and environment and got a lot of grief exploration through a narrative that didn't rly connect for me. There's parts where the environmental art and music rly work, and I'm very appreciative that the main path of the game doesn't stretch into the 2hour mark. The music might even be the standout star of the game. But, the key issue is over-spacing the environments, where sections of the game feel too spread out. Ironically, the most emotional section of the game for me was a bug where a ghost deer didn't despawn and I was able to push it all the way across the entire level, until I was forced to leave it behind because of a jumping section. I had gotten attached to the deer as I pushed it over the level and was actually sad to have to leave them behind. If you're more like me and are more interested in a game about animals, I recommend Shelter or Shelter 2.
Got this from a bundle. I do not care about your story, guy. Bad game. Bad everything.

I would slightly recommend this game, but it won't be for everyone, since it is mostly about the story and there is very little gameplay. It is a slow walking simulator, where you explore a world as a fox. There are items semi-hidden throughout the world and you will hear dialogue upon finding them. This tells a touching story about the characters' relationship with their parents. The background music is very pretty and soothing and is one of the stronger points of the game. The world is pretty to look at but not stunningly beautiful, nor does it have a super unique art style like i.e. the Meadow/Shelter games. But when it comes to gameplay and exploration the game falls a bit short. You can collect stars and they are often placed near objects that trigger the storybeats, but they are often far apart. Your walking speed is not very fast and it is not always super clear where you have to go to, so it feels like you are playing a walking simulator without direction. Sometimes there are huge open areas, where you would expect hidden collectibles/stars but then there is nothing. And sometimes there are hillsides that you can partially climb but it's not clear if there could actually be content there or if you are nearing an out-of-bounds area. There are a few jumping puzzles and they are trivially easy. I started a new game and it turned out that previous progress isn't saved. So that means finding all 150 stars and secrets will have to be done in single playthrough, if you are going for the achievements. There is no indication in-game showing you if you have found everything in the current stage, so getting all would involve repetitive exploration. It is probably not worth it for me. Tl;dr: It's relaxing a walking simulator with a touching story. The game looks pretty and has nice music. There is a lot of downtime between the story beats and getting all collectibles is tedious.
