Cool art style and story is interesting. There is no voice or text so you just piece together what is happening in game. I'm little sad to give thumb down because I really want to love this game. Puzzles is not too hard but controls are very bad and I had much trouble with bugs that force me to restart. This is why I can't be happy of this game.
"Albert and Otto" is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as if it was a real PC game (it's not)... it's a cash grab from greedy mobile devs. This mobile app is a ripoff of Microsoft's Limbo, but it's really a totally different game because the foreground is white, not black. This is pure, incredible innovation from amazing game designers, to make something white instead of black. Really pushing the envelope of creativity there. Jesus wept. Despite not being in Steam Early Access (where this arguably belongs), the mobile app is missing features and is apparently incomplete, being only the first chapter of the complete app, but the developer didn't bother with finishing the work needed on this mobile app. Due to the lack of meaningful progress from the developer, it's unlikely the mobile app will be completed at all, yet the developers reprehensively have their hand out for money for an incomplete mobile app. This is a good reason for gamers to avoid this. From a technical perspective, as a mobile app, this doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The mobile app features lazy minimalist/untextured low-polygon "retro" assets and visuals, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the early 1990s. The lack of textures is a method that lazy devs often use to disguise their lack of talent/interest in doing the graphics properly and trying to disguise it under the name of "art", or "We made it look bad on purpose", which really isn't something gamers should have to put up with. It's unclear why the developers weren't willing to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets and high resolution textures for the mobile app. It looks bad as a result of their decisions, and that's just another reason to avoid it. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the mobile app unplayable for differently-abled gamers, or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. Because this is a mobile app, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the iPhones that the mobile app was designed for. These are unfortunate handicaps and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was an afterthought for the iPhone developers who are to blame for this. The mobile app is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for mobile phones forces upon a game. Once more, mobile devs have made gaming worse for everyone. I didn't spend thousands on building a gaming rig just so I could pretend it's an iPhone. These technical defects push this mobile app below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. "Albert and Otto" didn't appeal much to the people who own a copy of the mobile app, either. It has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the mobile app didn't really capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is for picking up the rabbit, one of the first things that happens in this mobile app, trivial to get, but less than 20 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the mobile app. Hardly a success story, gamers just weren't all that interested in the mobile app. Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this mobile app was with players reveals a surprise... there's a very healthy spike in player counts for the mobile app. But this isn't consistent with the achievement stats, that show less than 20 percent of players bothered playing the mobile app for any reasonable amount of time. How is it possible for this mobile app to have so many concurrent players who didn't bother to played the mobile app? Trading cards. People will use card idling software to collect the cards and sell them, but this won't trigger any achievements in-game. That tells us people only really bought this mobile app for trading cards, and that's a damning indictment of the woeful quality. A closer look at the numbers shows the mobile app just has a couple of players every week running up the mobile app and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many mobile apps like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards. Once more we see greedy mobile devs trying to scam PC gamers. On Steam, this is $5 USD, on app stores, it's $2. Mobile devs must learn PC gamers are not here to be gouged, and can't be expected to pay more than TWICE THE PRICE for a cheap mobile app just because it's been lazily dumped on Steam. This is unacceptable disrespect for PC gamers. Because this is a mobile app, is priced to insult and gouge PC gamers, and because of the other defects, it's impossible to recommend. Just who do they think we are?

the game feels repetitive and frustrating at times. The puzzles can be confusing, and the controls feel clunky. The story isn’t very engaging, and it lacks variety. It’s a short game, but not very memorable or enjoyable.
