About
In Agents of MAYHEM, you run a no-holds barred operation against a shadowy super-villain organization known only as LEGION and their mysterious leader, the Morningstar.
Following the global attacks on Devil’s Night, cities of the world are held by the LEGION’s Ministries, bands of powerful villains named for the Seven Deadly Sins.
Seoul is the personal domain of LEGION’s mad scientists, the Ministry of Pride – Doctor Babylon and his rogue’s gallery of supporting villains.
You play as a variety of Super Agents – each with their own distinct look, personality, weapons, and skills. Explore the city of Seoul to rout out LEGION operatives and their vile plans to take over the world.
MAYHEM’s Agents have a license to do what the hell they want, so long as they do whatever it takes to grow the agency and ultimately defeat LEGION.Genres

Definition of garbage.
Saints row this is not, but you can see the influence. This is a 3rd person shooter game. The kind where you can kinda turn off your brain and play. It has a really cool Saturday morning cartoon vibe in the cut scenes. Yes this should have been a mutiplayer game but it is not. I like the different gameplay combos you can play around with. If you want some old school fun I do recommend this game. Also dont buy full price wait for a sale.
I think the game's great. I wouldnt come to this for an open world with a wide variety of activities, or saints rows deep character customization. But its simple mindless fun. Its an open world single player hero based looter shooter, much like borderlands, only they removed the need to farm guns, and they allow you to play with 3 characters at any given time. The "loot" comes in the form of crafting materials for single use items, new special skills and passives for your heroes, and mods for those skills and passives. Removing the weapon grind found in most looters makes the content very finite, this is not a forever game like most looters, but it has the action of a game like like crackdown, and the buildcraft of borderlands, condensed into a neat 15 or so hour package. Sidenote: To get the game to work on both my windows pc, and my steamdeck, i had to turn off steam input. Steam input messes with this game even launching.
I genuinely loved this game for the first few hours (gameplay, personality, style). But then the massive repetitiveness set in, which turned love to like (literally endless cycles). Then the progress losing bugs and glitches started to really irritate turning like into meh (hanging, unreachable quest objectives, enemies in walls). Unfortunately, I dismissed the reviews that mentioned bugs and glitches. I am stubborn so I will complete still try to complete the game. Consider this review a 40% like and 60% dislike.
Maybe the game is fun... Sadly, it has forced aim-assist with no apparent way to turn it off (the in-game setting does nothing to alleviate the problem) Hilariously enough, you can find Steam Discussions on this very topic when the game first launched, and people asking about it; yet nothing was done to resolve this issue. Furthermore: it seems like a common occurrence that the game does not launch on certain "more modern" systems. (you must download a Microsoft's Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable Package to fix that issue) Once again, the game may be fun, there's people in the reviews saying it is...however, it's seemingly only playable on a controller, or accepting the fact your aim is "assisted" by the game.
RIP "Volition"
The game didn’t blow me away but it also wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Gameplay-wise it is third-person action shooter, kind of like a mix of Crackdown and Saints Row (set in some sort of Saints Row alternate universe) where you play as one of 12-premade characters (+3 more in DLC’s) across rather small open-world city fighting “bad guys”. My main criticism is that the Agents of Mayhem becomes very repetitive after only few hours of gameplay. I don’t know if it was either due to budget or time constraints but for a moment I thought I’m playing some sort of prologue before the real game starts but no, it simply doesn’t have much variety in its assets and gameplay structure. I got the game for a little over £1 on -95% discount so at least I’ve definitely got my money’s worth of entertainment from it, overall I’d give it about 6/10 score. Also worth mentioning, obtaining 100% achievement completion in this game is no longer possible as there’s a online-only achievement and official servers have been shut down years ago.
