hard to control :(
Requires more precision than I am able to give
Ageless was much more challenging than I expected. There were several levels that I had to stop playing for a bit and come back with fresh eyes to beat, and more often than not it was down to a simple solution that I hadn't seen. That said, I wasn't a fan of the placement of checkpoints in boss levels. The boss levels are basically split into challenging stages with different puzzles that require good timing with checkpoints few and far between. This is unlike the standard stages where each screen contained one puzzle and a checkpoint after it. I ended up quitting the game at what I assume was the final boss fight because it was too frustrating to advance through several screens only to die and have to redo each one before retrying the one that I had trouble with. Overall, I would recommend this game for those looking for an interesting mechanic and challenging puzzle-platformer mechanics. The dialogue left something to be desired, but didn't distract too much from the gameplay.
This game does have it's good points, but it has a lot of flaws. While Ageless is promoted as a platformer, and it is to a certain extant, it's much more a puzzle game. The first two areas are doable enough but the game gets very difficult starting with the third area. Expect to need a guide. Even with a guide, you will struggle as there are many puzzles that come down to having just the right timing, to the point it's more luck than skill. Additionally, the main character is depressed for nearly the whole game, most of her dialogue is about not feeling happy and wanting a purpose.
Horrid controls and jank floaty physics should not be part of a precision platformer, but they are. i gave it an hour and i'm still not sure why lasted that long. The water section gave me TMNT NES flashbacks and i quit.
What a great game and story! Great, story, great game design, great stage design. I liked everything, the graphics, the cut-scenes. A few bugs here and there, but nothing that prevents you from playing the game. Coming down to the end, I wanted to continue the story and I skipped getting some relics, but it's fine because you can revisit specific locations in different areas which makes it easy to collect the ones you didn't obtain before. There's a guide (by Valadorn) that's also useful, I used it as my map basically. It helped me navigate to visit all areas as there's no minimap in game of the terrain. The puzzle of the game is not overwhelming where it disrupts your enjoyment of the story in any way. (I was just too eager to continue and know more of the story :3) (This is a game I have wanted and was gifted, thank you bob :3)
