Paradise: Musubi

I love the Paradise series, period. that's why I recommend it. [h3] — On the translation [/h3] There are big problems with the translation. I won't say it was translated by AI like everyone is suspecting, because I think the company would have taken a lot less time to finish the project, and it would've come out a lot better than this. I don't like the idea of AI replacing people but it's just how bad this particular translation is. I believe they used machine translation for this game (like google translate), and they didn't even bother proofreading it before release. For example: sometimes the character is saying one thing, but the translation says THE OPPOSITE. Not to mention the strangest choice of words possible, vague dialogs that don't mean anything and all the pronoun switching from first to third person for no reason, arbitrarily attributing the wrong action to the wrong character. A redditer called 'doglost' wrote about this in more detail, but there're even situations where they add lines that weren't even there, like when Takara tells Shimada he could take all the pictures he wanted of dismembered bodies, but the translation says Takara will chop his D*** off and take many pictures of it to show him?? like, what? 😭 This level of mistranslation leads to severe mischaracterization of the story. Couldn't jast have put a little more effort into it? their main job is basically just translating. I only bought this game because I purposefully wanted to increase sales and make jast bring the remaining game of the series, namely [b]Paradise KIWAME[/b]. but the quality of the service they delivered is subpar and disappointing. [h3] — On the game itself [/h3] The game consists of the afterstories for the good endings and "reverse routes", which retell some events from the original game under the perspective of the love interests. While that's really interesting, I think they tried to 'sugarcoat' many issues the characters presented in the original. As if they somehow tried to "redeem" them, and, personally, I think it's awful. I wish they'd just accept it as true and move on, like [i]"yeah I was an ahh-hole to Azuma but it's over now and I changed",[/i] or, [i]"yeah I was an ahh-hole to Azuma but I did it because it was a dire situation back in the island, everyone was starving and desperate and we went crazy".[/i] But no, they had to go and say [i]"I somehow treated you like s*** but it was not my intention! you see, I was good all along and thought of your wellbeing all the while I punched you in the gut(Matsuda)/tried to drown you in a river(Mitsugi)/tried to kill you and turn everyone against you(Takara)".[/i] Seeing them try to explain Mitsugi's initial nasty attitude as an accident was very annoying. Like... he himself admitted he was a rebellious delinquent in his youth, but the writers had to say it was all but a misunderstanding from Azuma's part. My point is, it's very confusing and frustrating when you shape a character like a delinquent or a tyrant or a self-centered killer but suddenly you try to break their personality apart to make him seem like something else, something cuter or sweeter... I'm not against them being portrayed as scummy, but I am against redeeming them by brushing things off as misunderstandings, y'know. Moving on, the sex scenes were... nice, but very modest/restrained imho. the person who wrote them wasn't that creative and refused to go beyond regular anal sex. (Another Paradise game goes by and there's absolutely ZERO oral sex scenes for Mitsugi...🙄) It was the voice actors who carried the entire sex scenes on their backs — they're absolute KINGS 🥰 if not for them, I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much as I did (Matsuda's voice is so good it makes my ♥♥♥♥♥cat hurt 😭 but all VAs are insanely skilled and pleasant to listen to) Lastly, the art in the CGs look like it has improved since the original game. I was pretty happy to be able to spend more time with the characters I like so much, even with all these mishaps and setbacks, and even if I couldn't get to feel as much "in Azuma's shoes" as I did during the original game.

个人感觉逆转视角还是不够多，虽然解释了可攻略对象的动机但是很多问题还是没有解释：比如三木be线里高良跳崖有没有死；当着高良面杀吾妻的人应该是本乡，但是他为什么要这么做；本乡既然知道了高良是幕后黑手为什么看到岛田尸体要掐死吾妻；高良为什么要命令本乡把吾妻带去废村侵犯。让读者脑补少点意思，感觉多写写看得更过瘾。另外岛田和本乡的if线挺有意思的，被本篇里的两个be雷到了结里面这两个结局还让人有点小感动
