Age of Steel: Recharge

Age of Steel is a nice, litte strategy game. It`s less a classic tower defense game. It`s more a mix of tower defense, base upgrading and nexus war game. The graphics are nice, sound is okay, the music is mostly ambient. A cool fact is, you take your money from level to level, but you earn enough, so after a couple of matches it`s only about cooldowns and not about money. You can have a total of 16 units on the field in 3 defense lines: Ground for Towers and Tanks, medium air for airships and top air for bomber and anti air copters. You can also upgrade your base in some levels, so it transforms into a flying fortress, so you only have to defend against airships and high air enemies. The game comes with survival maps, to train, got special units on most of the maps, and got a nice look, similar to the kingdom series. You can buy it if you like static basedefense like in the kingdom series, enjoy nexus war mods from games like starcraft and just a little game to chill. You complete the campaign in about 1-2 hrs and then about 2 hrs to grind the last achievements in survival. I enjoyed it.

The game is very simple, the campaign is passed in 1 hour, 100% of achievements can be obtained in another 3 hours, the last hour you just look at the screen, making a couple of clicks every 5 minutes. In essence, it's an autobattler with upgrades. It's probably more interesting on higher difficulty, but on the easiest difficulty in survival mode it just seems endless. The game for one evening, played and forgotten, but nevertheless - it's a good game, the developer has done a good job.

Neat casual game. Back in the days of browser games, this could have been a well known game. Maybe a lower price tag would be more appropiate?

Instead of that satisfying caveman to future march, you just get flat gameplay, repetitive units, and the creeping realization that you’d rather replay Flash games from 2006 than push through another wave here. Just a lackluster, cheap replica of Age of War.

finished all of the missions as well as all of the achievements the game it self is not to bad as a time killer other than that it is not the greatest of games to play for the actual enjoyment side of things very simple design but overall a decent indie game took just under 4 hours to compete everything.
