This game is similar to tower defence games. The resource mining is automatic and you can use resources to buy defence units (turrets, tanks, planes) or to upgrade the units. Or you can upgrade the base to get different units and more upgrades. This game plays on three floors, the ground (turrets and tanks and shield), the middle air (airships) and the top air (planes) and every floor has its own units. Generally each unit only fights against enemies on the same floor but there are bombers (defender and attacker) which drop bombs from the top to both other floors and there are air-defence turrets which can hit planes and airships. The game play is fluent and interesting. You can only build one unit at a time and you are limited to 12 so you have to build wisely. But you can destroy misplaced or unused units. You cannot build while upgrading and the other way around, therefore you have to plan in advance. Every level in the campaign plays about the same because the attackers are always the same and they always attack on the 3 floors. At the end of each level there will be a different enemy boss which is not very hard to beat. On later level you will start with an upgraded base and get a special defence units which might be helpful against the enemy boss. I like this game but the content does not justify the price. The campaign is very short (about 3 hours) and the survival mode is boring because you start with a fully upgraded base and the enemies don't get harder. Also it is not possible to replay the levels in the campaign. You could reset your progress in the game but be warned: This does not only reset the campaign, it also resets the records of the survival mode and everything you might have unlocked. So there is no real replay value. Pros: Great visuals Good sound Polished menu interesting game mechanics Cons: Campaign too short Survival mode boring No support for touch screen
Age of Steel: Recharge is basic tower defense game with strategy elements. The game is quite simple and straightforward, controls are easy. There is a storyline for this game with multiple maps, however you almost always start from basic lvl 1 base. You need to defend your base in 3 different lines. Ground combat, air battleships and fighter/bombers. Some units can dmg other lines aswell, some can focus dmg to their own lines. Its pretty challenging sometimes as you need build up your defences for all 3 lines. Survival mode is available aswell. Its challenging to stay alive for a long time. If you looking for a not too easy, challenging, but also not too hard tower defense game then this might worth a try, but only on sale. The quality of this game isnt exceptional, it offers more like a browser game feeling so the 6.99eur price might be a bit too much for it. If you like these kind of games you will enjoy a good 5-6 hours playtime. As your Average Achievement Hunter ill share some informations about the achievements aswell: 20 steam achievements. A few of them awarded for story progression, some special tasks like killing X untis, earning Y resources what you will get just by playing the game. Survival mode achievements are the more challenging ones in this game. You need kill 1000 units in a single survival game, its not that easy. Time to 100%: 4-7h
Played the game for two hours, finished the campaign 100%. The game is very repetitive. You need one strategy and on every map you can use it. It is always the same on each and every map. The only difference is when there is a boss fight, but that does not count. I didnot try survival mode because i don´t expect anything from it. There are some special weapons on each map, i only used them on the last map, where you need Titans as fire support to bring down the final boss. Should you buy it? If you want give some east european devs some money - do it. If you want to kill some time - do it. If you expect some sort of strategy master piece you can play for hours and hours and try different ways - forget it. One strategy to rule them all!
Kojarzycie grę Shadows of War ? Pewnie, że nie kojarzycie, bo to gniot straszny, nie grywalny i ogólnie k.upa wielka. A czemu o to pytam?
PLUSY: + Ładny pikselart + Brak błędów MINUSY: - Muzyka i odgłosy - Mało plansz
OCENA: 6/10

Zapraszam do obserwacji naszego kuratora: ŚWIAT RECENZJI
https://store.steampowered.com/curator/26553378/
Hold the line!
Age of Steel: Recharge is a pretty standard tower/lane defense. Basically the entire game revolves around building land and air units, aswell as upgrading your base in order to defend yourself from waves of The Opposition’s troops. You are in charge of an allied mobile base and in each mission, the goal is to defend key areas to the Alliance in its fight against The Opposition. The gameplay is pretty simple. There are three different types of Units, the first one moves on land and that’s where you got your tanks, turrets and walls. The second Unit type is in the water and on this lane the only thing that moves are ships. Finally the top lane is where jets and other aircraft move. Assuming it isn’t a bomber, a Unit cannot attack Units on another lane. This brings some strategy to the game, which makes you manage the amount of units you have on each lane and if you’re able to defend your base from that lane effectively. Now, there is a few things I found weird about the game, such as the Steam overlay doesn’t work (Fraps framerate counter also appears not to work) and also that there is no way to check the objective for the mission you’re playing. The objective only displays at the beginning of the level I believe. That said, things like having the ability to queue multiple units for construction and clever hotkeys for building specific units are also not present, which I find rather odd, especially on a game like this. Pros:

Good looking pixel art (reminds me of Risk of Rain)
Neat music, suits the game really well
Easy to learn, very low skillcap
Runs on a potato (tested it)
Cons:

Typos in the dialogue which are rather annoying
Short campaign (3-4 hours long)
It can get repetitive on long play sessions
Overall thoughts I feel like the story is there just for the sake of it. The Opposition, the first non governmental army, wants to dominate the world and create a new society in order to achieve global peace and prosperity. On the other hand, the Alliance wants to free the world of The Opposition because they believe their campaign will eventually lead Earth to its demise. If you were looking for a rich setting, you probably won’t find it here. To sum it all up, this is not a bad game, but it also isn’t a very good one, the features that are present do what they have to. If you’re looking for a time waster or something to play while you’re bored or in short periods of time, this might be the game for you. If you’re still unsure about it, get it on sale.
You could see this game as a lane based tower defense game, but with each lane having it's own distinct unit types, or as a rock-paper-scissors tug of war game, where each time you see the enemy sending more units at you, you have to see if your current forces will handily beat it, or if not start building a counter to the enemy unit(s) now coming at you. Do it badly/slowly and they start beating up your base, do it well and you start to dominate all three lanes and kill everything as soon as it appears on screen. The lanes mostly fight against others in the same lane, but some units are designed to use dominance of one lane to give you a boost in another - like the bomber which is useless if you don't have aerial supremacy, but can be powerful at clearing zeppelins and ground forces if you do. The base gameplay then works fine, and make an interesting lite-RTS style experience where you build units, upgrade your base to build more unit types, or research upgrades to existing units, all while fending off the enemy attacks. Unfortunately similar to RTS games each new level you start again from scratch, which has never been something I am keen on as it can makes levels fairly repetitive, especially later on when you have the same 15 techs to get as last time before getting a new 16th tech and finally get to do something a bit new. Another issue in the game is some unit types aiming ability - most units fire straight ahead, but then bullets curve downwards, and no one ever learns to adjust for this and fires up slightly, meaning some units that seeming have long range actually can only hit things immediately in front of them, and some units are much more vulnerable and weak purely because they have some part of their design that drops "below the waterline" of where units shot in each lane. There is a main campaign where you unlock new units as you go along, and there is a story to give it all background which was passable but no more, and missions have some variety of objectives - make a certain amount of resources, build a certain tech/upgrade/unit, kill a number of enemies, survive a certain time, etc. There is also a survival mode where you can sit there and slowly the amount of enemy units sent against you increases and eventually overwhelms you, I can't say I played this mode much as it didn't really feel much different to playing any of the later levels of the game for the initial stages, then you wait around a while once you have all the techs/units/excess resources you can get for the enemy forces to ramp up, then eventually there is another interesting bit where they start to break through but you can hold on by making the right choices, but that tends to only last a few minutes before the enemy adds even more forces and then nothing you can do holds them back. Overall it is fairly decent, a bit innovative in it's approach, nice to look at, but has a few flaws/frustrations that stop it really being something special.
EDIT: Sound seems to be fixed and level select was my fault, fun TD. ten hours to complete. I had a lot of fun with this one, I would go back if there was more achievements, and I bought a few copies for friends. Age of Steel: Recharge Sadly, this game does have great potential. The first minute was great. I was rushing to upgrade my tower in order to unlock helicopters. Sure enough the action picked up quickly. My turrets were gunning away, my first tanks were rolling down the strip and a pair of heli's was engaging. Everything was looking good for a ten cent game (what I paid). I thought to my self well this is not so bad. Things got a little more intense the sounds were amazing until....no sound. The sound for the game overloaded itself! the game continued to run while I scrambled to figure out what went wrong checking my selected sound devices. In the mean time my heli's dropped, turrets gone. game over. no biggie sound does not work. Lets go again because it was fun. First lvl of campaign, done, second, third, lets go to main menu and see whats up. Nothing. Ok lets play campaign again. Well, there seems to be some glitch I cant select lvl three. There was problems selecting the levels, the game randomly decided what level I was able to play even tho I had unlock them. All in all, for ten cents I got an hour of game play out of it. I just wished they had fixed the sound and lvl select issue. If it was not for those little bugs, I could have played Age of Steel: Recharge for dozens of hours. This could have been a great little TD, but unfortunately dropped the ball. EDIT: Sound seems to be fixed and level select was my fault, fun TD. ten hours to complete. I had a lot of fun with this one, I would go back if there was more achievements, and bought a few copies for friends.
░░░░░░███████ ]▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ ▂▄▅█████████▅▄▃▂ [███████████████████]. ◥⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙◤..
The game is very simple, the campaign is passed in 1 hour, 100% of achievements can be obtained in another 3 hours, the last hour you just look at the screen, making a couple of clicks every 5 minutes. In essence, it's an autobattler with upgrades. It's probably more interesting on higher difficulty, but on the easiest difficulty in survival mode it just seems endless. The game for one evening, played and forgotten, but nevertheless - it's a good game, the developer has done a good job.
Age of Steel is a nice, litte strategy game. It`s less a classic tower defense game. It`s more a mix of tower defense, base upgrading and nexus war game. The graphics are nice, sound is okay, the music is mostly ambient. A cool fact is, you take your money from level to level, but you earn enough, so after a couple of matches it`s only about cooldowns and not about money. You can have a total of 16 units on the field in 3 defense lines: Ground for Towers and Tanks, medium air for airships and top air for bomber and anti air copters. You can also upgrade your base in some levels, so it transforms into a flying fortress, so you only have to defend against airships and high air enemies. The game comes with survival maps, to train, got special units on most of the maps, and got a nice look, similar to the kingdom series. You can buy it if you like static basedefense like in the kingdom series, enjoy nexus war mods from games like starcraft and just a little game to chill. You complete the campaign in about 1-2 hrs and then about 2 hrs to grind the last achievements in survival. I enjoyed it.
