Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 10.43/day in the week to Aug 23 → 14.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
You are the Viceroy – a leader charged by the Scorched Queen to reclaim the wilderness and discover lost riches for the Smoldering City, civilization's last bastion against the Blightstorm that destroyed the old world. Unlike most survival city builders where your focus is on a single city, in Against the Storm you must build a vast, prosperous network of settlements populated by diverse fantasy races, each with their own specializations and needs.
The wilderness holds many hidden dangers, and never-ending storms will batter your population into submission. If your settlements should fall, then the expedition may end – but not the game. Against the Storm is a roguelite city builder, meaning you will carry forward the resources, upgrades, and experience of your past expeditions each time you set off for a new journey into the wild.

Foxes, beavers, and lizards stand alongside humans and harpies in the struggle to survive. Utilize each group's strengths as you balance their varying needs, from housing and culinary preferences to taste in luxuries and recreation. Will you manufacture raincoats, brew ale, and bake pies to boost morale in the face of the oppressive hostility of the forest, or will you prioritize the needs of one species over another to operate more swiftly for the Scorched Queen?

Experience core city builder gameplay enhanced by roguelite replayability. Build and manage multiple settlements spread out across a large world map, all while collecting valuable meta-progression resources to upgrade the Smoldering City. Feel the pressure of an expectant monarch as the Scorched Queen demands constant progress while recurring Blightstorms pose an inevitable threat to your settlements. Manage your reputation to secure your success at any one settlement before moving on to establish another, constantly seeking new opportunities for growth, taking on unique challenges across multiple biomes, and bracing for the inevitable destruction of everything but the Smoldering City itself. How will you maximize each cycle to not just ensure the best fate for the Smoldering City, but for your career as Viceroy as well?

With hundreds of gameplay modifiers and 6 distinct biomes, every city location presents unique challenges for even the most resourceful Viceroy. Adjust your strategy to changing weather conditions and experiment with rosters of building blueprints and perks that can help your society thrive or bring it to ruin. Will you take on and complete additional objectives and delve deeper into the dangerous forest for potential boons, or will you approach with caution to ensure you operate within your capabilities? All the while, you never know what wares the Trader will bring next year, and the forest holds treasures and resources, but also ancient threats.

Laying the foundations for a new city is one of the most exciting moments in a city-building game. In Against the Storm, you'll have the opportunity to repeatedly experience this by creating new settlements, while still interacting with your network of previously established cities in a growing world.

“Look, I played a roguelike that’s not a deckbuilder!” is what I would say if Against the Storm was not a deckbuilder. But despite everyone labeling the game as a city-building roguelike, the underlying gameplay is more tactical than strategic. Instead of deciding things like zoning, transportation, or tech tree milestones—choices often driven by long-term plans—your most important decision is which building to draft. And often, you pick a building to finish a short-term goal, or patch some sort of deficit. In fact, strategizing is almost impossible, because you don’t know which buildings you’ll get in your next draft. You only keep a city for two to three hours before winning or losing the run. This sidesteps my main gripes with the city builders I’ve played, where there doesn’t feel like there’s much that’s new with a city, after growing it for several hours. The sheer combinatorial variety arising from buildings, orders, cornerstones, species, biomes, glade events, and world events, is staggering. There are roguelikes you can play for tens of hours, and roguelikes you can play for hundreds; this is the latter. I’ve over ninety hours and I’ve yet to play two runs that feel the same. The tactical focus extends to worker management, another major component of gameplay. Much time is spent shuffling workers between buildings, to address changing resource needs, or optimize for workers’ specialties and preferences. One main goal is maximizing worker satisfaction, which in addition to being influenced by employment and housing, is also influenced by food, clothing, and services. High-level gameplay involves allowing and forbidding consumption of these goods at key times. One thing I enjoy about city builders is efficiently using resources to satisfy competing needs, and Against the Storm has this too. At times, however, the game takes this to the extreme. Preventing workers from leaving sometimes devolves to juggling workers, consumption control, and favor. The difficulty curve starts steep and stays steep, though this is offset by the excellent wiki. The strong meta-progression helps at first, but its impact feels much slower starting around midway. Despite this, of the six or seven deckbuilding roguelikes I’ve played in the last few months, only Against the Storm made the cut of getting my explicit recommendation.

One of my favourite games of all time. Ticks all my city builder boxes. What's the vibe... cosy but wet? If you like the sound of the above then give it a try.
holy moly this game is incredibly fun!
Love the unlimited variability in choices
Very good game with clear mechanics and adequate difficulty curve and skill (understanding of game) progression. Ideal when you want to time-warp 1 hour in the future :) highly recommended!
Quite possibly the best videogame I've ever played. A little masterpiece that perfectly weaves simple supply chains, obstacles and choices into an extremely deep and rewarding system. The more you play, the more the depth increases: unlocking all the races, then the rainpunk mechanics, the Seals, the Prestige levels...somehow this never gets overwhelming, and instead it makes the game more gratifying and fun the more you play. On top of that, the warcrafty graphics are gorgeous and the soundtrack is really moving and intense. I've hardly ever played a game where every system and decision felt as purposeful as in this title (maybe only Slay the Spire), I cannot recommend this enough. 10/10
Awesome game! I've never been much of a strategy fan, but this one totally hooked me. The fantasy graphics are stunning, and the gameplay is super engaging!
