Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 10.43/day in the week to Aug 23 → 14.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
You are the Viceroy – a leader charged by the Scorched Queen to reclaim the wilderness and discover lost riches for the Smoldering City, civilization's last bastion against the Blightstorm that destroyed the old world. Unlike most survival city builders where your focus is on a single city, in Against the Storm you must build a vast, prosperous network of settlements populated by diverse fantasy races, each with their own specializations and needs.
The wilderness holds many hidden dangers, and never-ending storms will batter your population into submission. If your settlements should fall, then the expedition may end – but not the game. Against the Storm is a roguelite city builder, meaning you will carry forward the resources, upgrades, and experience of your past expeditions each time you set off for a new journey into the wild.

Foxes, beavers, and lizards stand alongside humans and harpies in the struggle to survive. Utilize each group's strengths as you balance their varying needs, from housing and culinary preferences to taste in luxuries and recreation. Will you manufacture raincoats, brew ale, and bake pies to boost morale in the face of the oppressive hostility of the forest, or will you prioritize the needs of one species over another to operate more swiftly for the Scorched Queen?

Experience core city builder gameplay enhanced by roguelite replayability. Build and manage multiple settlements spread out across a large world map, all while collecting valuable meta-progression resources to upgrade the Smoldering City. Feel the pressure of an expectant monarch as the Scorched Queen demands constant progress while recurring Blightstorms pose an inevitable threat to your settlements. Manage your reputation to secure your success at any one settlement before moving on to establish another, constantly seeking new opportunities for growth, taking on unique challenges across multiple biomes, and bracing for the inevitable destruction of everything but the Smoldering City itself. How will you maximize each cycle to not just ensure the best fate for the Smoldering City, but for your career as Viceroy as well?

With hundreds of gameplay modifiers and 6 distinct biomes, every city location presents unique challenges for even the most resourceful Viceroy. Adjust your strategy to changing weather conditions and experiment with rosters of building blueprints and perks that can help your society thrive or bring it to ruin. Will you take on and complete additional objectives and delve deeper into the dangerous forest for potential boons, or will you approach with caution to ensure you operate within your capabilities? All the while, you never know what wares the Trader will bring next year, and the forest holds treasures and resources, but also ancient threats.

Laying the foundations for a new city is one of the most exciting moments in a city-building game. In Against the Storm, you'll have the opportunity to repeatedly experience this by creating new settlements, while still interacting with your network of previously established cities in a growing world.

Best city building game for those, who don't understand or don't like city building games. Meta gameplay somewhat on the grindy side. But run gameplay provides good balance of accomplishment and stress.
I love this game, it's everything I've ever wanted from a city builder. Easy-to-read UI, intuitive controls, more in-depth statistics than I will ever find relevant, and the ability to play in short but satisfying sessions. My only gripe is that the difficulty scales too crazy high (I will never repair all the seals, as I can't manage a win past prestige 6) and thus there is some content that I will never unlock. The amount of content here is nuts, even without the DLC there's A LOT of variability. Does it get repetitive after 100 hours? Sure, but by that's what the prestige difficulty modes are for. The DLC is totally worth getting though, even though I dislike the bats and the ravine and the coast, there's still enough buildings and world map modifiers to make them worth it. tl;dr: if you like city builders but wish there was a short-term version with specific objectives, this is your dream game!

I really wanted to like this game, but unfortunately it turned out to be much less enjoyable than I expected. I spent around 18 hours in the game, but a significant amount of that time was spent AFK or simply waiting for things to happen. The gameplay loop quickly became repetitive and just wasn't engaging enough for me. I tried to give the game more time because I thought it might get better once I understood the mechanics and progressed further. Ironically, doing that put me well over Steam's 2-hour refund window. My refund request was denied, even though a lot of my playtime wasn't meaningful active gameplay. I understand that many people enjoy this type of game, and I'm not saying it's objectively bad. But if you're expecting an engaging strategy game where you're constantly making meaningful decisions, I strongly recommend watching plenty of gameplay or trying it very carefully before committing. Personally, I regret the purchase and wouldn't recommend buying it.

best management sim ever made
Early fast "im off my meds" review First this starts as this cute "city builder", but boring cuz theres no fighting, like yeah i get it its against the environment itself but whatever dude, could have been fun then you start seeing how ridiculous the grind is gonna be to the "end" of the game, is there even an end? Story? Who knows, there's some vague this and that about a storm and the queen and thats about it They just forgot to add a goal to the game beyond "hey do these camps and the seals or whatever tf, why you ask? cuz we said so ok" Honestly there's just too much ♥♥♥♥ on the screen, like this is designed for some kind of specific tism that loves micromanaging literally everything If you love RNG based slop, you'll love this, you get basic buildings and thats it, the rest is up to the RNG Honestly I didn't even bother interacting with the mechanics beyond assigning the right workers and limiting production values, there's just too many ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ modifiers and ♥♥♥♥ that you need to remember, and for what like, what purpose does it serve for me to remember every little thing and check out every detail and tick every box? I don't see it If you play on the easiest difficulty like I have, this can be fun, try something harder though and you'll get reamed out by a cactus faster than you can say Against the slop Like the gameplay loop is the same thing every time, theres nothing to hook you and dangle a carrot to say "hey if you make it harder or do these missions or whatever, heres some lore and story progression", like nope nothin Like im not even level 4, it's disgusting, takes about an hour to finish a settlement for crumbs of XP, like ok to reach the max level I gotta put in what, 200 hours? Yeah no Idk coulda been good but its basically bugman eternal grind RNG sloppa
Jogo muito bom!! Recomendo
幾埸後就很沉悶.
Excellent game, re-playable, challenging, highly recommended
Against the Storm solve THE big problem of sims and 4X games: bloat. It is a myriad of systems and clocks all trying to crush you before you can fulfill the objectives laid out by your benefactor, and it's so tightly tuned that you simply can't sit back and rest on your laurels, to make progress, you MUST keep pushing into the unknown. Instant recommend to anyone with any love of the genre whatsoever.
