A great solitaire card game, one of the best and one of the best deck games out there other than Spirit Island and Ascension! Its also a great challenge! The expansion packs add lots of flavor to the game and enhance it greatly. The difficulty can be adjusted. Not every game is winnable. Sometimes the key is how much you can last against your opponent.
Aeon's end was (before astro knights replace it) my favorite cooperative 2 players boardgames of the last years. I enjoyed it that much ! So, once i saw it on steam i was really happy. But god... As much as i love this game... This digital version is so.... UGGLY ! And by uggly, i mean, the UI... Is so bad... So rustic (in the wrong way) and i really feel this could have been, and should be, much more polished and "enjoyable" to watch... And that's a shame, coz for that only reason, i just don't wanna play this digital version... at all ! So i just uninstall it. I hope that someday, the developpers will bring this game the UI and visual surronding, it deserve !
Dominion (deckbuilding) + Dark Souls (grimdark fantasy + brutal hard gameplay) = Aeon's End. Very Strategic, Very Tactic. You can play it solo, or with friends. If you're clever enough, it has very little RNG, since you put the card discard pile 1:1 facedown as your deck, so no shuffling involved. The Enemy does a couple of random moves, but it's predictable enough, usually. It keeps the game both balanced and interesting to play. Big Recommendation.
Aeon's End is one of those games that proves the butterfly effect in game design. One small change to a formula can create something entirely new. Aeon's End is a legitimately amazing tabletop game, and this price is fantastic. At it's core, its a standard deck builder. Play gems from your hand to generate money and spells to damage the enemy. The money lets you put new cards into your deck, ultimately making you stronger over time and allowing you to build an engine of destruction. (Quick side note: This is a dominion-style deck builder where 9 "Shop Cards" are chosen at the start of the game allowing you to build the plan from turn 1. It's not pure random like Slay the Spire.) What makes Aeon's End special is that you don't shuffle your discard pile. This means that you are in complete control with the order you'll draw cards. You're not just spending cards for the turn, you're planning what cards you'll have in your hand a few turns down the road! With careful planning, you'll build the combinations several turns ahead allowing massive control over the board. This minimizes the RNG and maximizes tactical thinking. Now for the digital port. The UI is a bit clunky, and not nearly as polished as I'd like... but it mostly works. It's a case where it's particularly underwhelming and feels like like a generic digital board game. Once you get used to it, play moves quickly. The only real problem is that there is ALOT of information in the game, and a generic UI doesn't help you learn the ropes. Several times I've had a "You can still perform actions!" message but I had no idea what that action was. Could I buy cards? Did I have to draw? Was it telling me about my character power or a spell I can cast? Maybe a specific monster ability? I DONT KNOW! It made for rough learning. So, Aeon's End is a fantastic tabletop game with a functional enough PC port. I'd argue that the UI is inferior to playing with physical cards especially if you're new, but digital is a better price and doesn't take up room on the shelf.
this is an awesome game if you like coop deck building.
Wenn man das Brettspiel mag ist dies eine sehr gute Umsetzung um es auch am Bildschirm zu nutzen und Taktiken gut auch alleine auszuprobieren ohne gleich das ganze Spielbrett aufbauen zu müssen.
Excellent digital version of the game. I hope there is a plan to add more content since there are so many expansions for the physical game.
Gioco purtroppo monotono, con meccaniche a volte confusionarie (preciso che probabilmente è per via del fatto che non conosco bene l'inglese). Ciò implica poca intuitività e interazioni poco dinamiche. Personalmente non lo consiglio
great game and a good visual/story in relation to the OG card game. I wish they would release more story and more cards. Very willing to pay for DLC updates.
The game is amazing. "Simple" deck builder but with massive tactical depth. No 2 games are the same. Implementation could be a bit more polished but it gets the job done.
