An incredibly fun arcadey flight combat game, with a decent story to get you interested enough to keep going but not much after. If you liked shooting people from a Jet in GTA online, you'll like this game. A negative is the lockout of objectively better multiplayer parts from being used in single player (though thankfully resolved with mods) The game would be much more fun if the part limit was also removed, 8 is too little to have fun with.

Another amazing entry in this franchise. Been playing since AC4 as a kid. Loved the story in this one, even more than past entries.
Great game on my mama
Gameplay: 8 Visuals: 10 Sound: 10 Story: 10 Experience: 9 Verdict: Overall incredible game but some missions are poorly designed and frustrating to play
Amazing arcade jet game. Played 2, 4, 5, 0. Out of all of them, this is definitely the best one by far in terms of gameplay and visuals. Music is superb. Story is serviceable. I wouldn't say the story is bad like some would say. I think that's just nitpicking at that point. Easiest to start the series here. Regularly on sale, best controls, most accessible. Mission objectives are clearest. Really love the mod parts you can add to every plane. Really lets you play to your own style. The unlock system is really fun versus a standard shop in other entries and series. Be prepared to rage on your first playthrough as there is a lot of stuff you have to figure out on the fly for different missions that can make you fail out of nowhere if you don't already know. The controls can take some getting used to as well, if this is your first flight genre game. I recommend trying the older entries too once you've gotten your fill of 7. These games are indeed meant to be played over and over though, being arcade games in nature. I recommend doing Zero and 5 next if you're a new player. (Fair warning, the multiplayer is absolutely dead.) This game was wonderful overall. Had some annoyance like with the tomboy character you'll meet right away, but thankfully they're not too present in the game. Wings of Theve (8) is not looking too good... Looks kinda woke and ridiculous with bad writing and voicework that is neither fitting nor comically bad. Hope it ends up being better, as I would love for an expanded sequel for 7.
Finished the campaign, awesome cut scenes and story
I enjoyed the game, but it’s nowhere near the “Metal Gear of airplane games” I was sold. The story is terribly told, and the UX and controls are a mess. Maybe things are better with a proper flight stick, but playing with a regular controller, I was still getting confused about which buttons changed weapons, changed targets, or fired even during the final mission. The game looks good, but the sound design is pretty mediocre. It doesn’t come anywhere close to games like Flight Simulator, where the engine sounds actually make you feel like you’re piloting a real aircraft. Here, everything sounds like a toy. The best part of the game by far is the mission design. No two missions feel the same, and honestly, they were all very entertaining. Everything else is pretty standard. The aircraft upgrade system is extremely linear, and aside from switching between different planes, there’s not much meaningful customization. The huge number of aircraft is basically anecdotal, at least in the campaign. The overall game design also feels very repetitive: cutscene, aircraft selection, mission, cutscene, aircraft selection, mission, repeat. It's just meh I wouldn’t call this a particularly good game, but it’s definitely entertaining and might pick up the sequel sometime after it releases. Score: 3.5/5

I've played this on Xbox and bought it again when I got a PC. Pretty good graphics and detail like the attitude indicator working in the cockpit. Its a good game for any aviation fans. Cant wait for Ace Combat 8!
