Its a really good game, its kinda hard at the start, but if play more and more u are in the goo mode and its going easier everytime u play. The soundtracks are really well done, i like to listen to it and it varies on stages. Devs are really friendly too, keep it up!
A lot of effort from a genuinely hard working indie game dev, super hard game, very intriguing gameplay and still under development!
Ich liebe den Artstyle!
Video review: https://youtu.be/DBndPxmF3Fo The developer reached out to me and asked me to play. The game obviously has a lot of good intentions, though it is hampered a bit by the implementation. The game's a roguelike where you traverse through multiple levels and kill goo creatures, collecting some kind of pages that can be used to give you upgrades, and you can also buy stuff too. There are multiple goo forms you can take on, though I only managed to become one of them. The levels I experienced are mostly small-ish areas where you kill a certain number of goos before moving into another one, or finding yourself at a store/upgrade area. The combat is somewhat hampered by the environment at times, as the goos will be hidden by rocks or the grass. It's a minor complaint, and as you play you'll likely experience this less as you will have some areas that don't have rocks or long grass for them to disappear in. Combat itself is fairly simple, at least with the character I had. There is visible impact on the enemies, so you have a decent idea that you're actually causing damage to them. There are... restrictions to killing these mini-bosses/bosses that aren't really explained fluidly in the game. You may need to kill the additional spawns in order to kill the boss, or some other specific action that you won't know until you've figured it out. Graphically the game has some nicely designed backgrounds and foregrounds, and despite the Goo creatures being somewhat simplistic in design - they have a distinct quality to them that gives them a bit of life. At the end of a run you can buy upgrades if you have enough of whatever the page currency is. It's your standard roguelike fare here. The music was a very pleasant surprise. There are some truly well crafted tunes, and a good variety of them as well. Overall I played for a bit over an hour, and I think the game has a lot of charm. It's rough around the edges, but when you really take notice of the effort put into the game overall it kind've feels like a bit of a gem.
The game was programmed with Pixel Game Maker MV and totally stands out from the graphics. The Goo's interact with each other and the combinations of the different colored balls give different buffs for the adventure started. The levels are all different and already processed with several layers to get a 3D effect. Each level has its own music and even the bosses are very different and a challenge in themselves. The names of the Goo's are quite funny and appropriate, especially the bosses. Since release, the game is always being worked on to improve performance, which I think is great. So far I have unlocked 4 different characters, but there may be more. Some soundtracks are already catchy and I hope there will be an OST of the game. Keep up the good work .......
This land do be goo, and it do be crazy. 11/10 I can be myself in this game
Played it a bit and tinkered around with it. Was sent this way by the creator, and given a code for it. Seems potentially interesting, although I had trouble killing enemies on the first screen, though it's also possible I wasn't doing the right things. Some enemies had hundreds of HP and I wasn't doing enough damage. Hopefully more people check it out and give a new game developer a chance.
A piece of Art in itself, a bit cryptic if you're not a goo I guess, but the sound and graphics really stand out. playful and with many details ... i love it! Watch me trying to figure it out again: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmWSY9aSfak
You can feel that the dev has put a lot of personal effort into it. Very nice soundtrack to top it off. Funny and challanging game!
