Score: 7/10 The Good: If you are a fan of Black Mirror, the narrative here is right up your alley. The story is fantastic, deeply psychological, and all the mind-bending twists actually make perfect sense by the end. The plot is the absolute strongest part of the game. The Bad: The pacing and visuals really drag the experience down. Graphically, it is a mixed bag-not terrible, but there is a noticeable lack of polish with some obvious marketplace assets. Furthermore, the game is padded with boring puzzles that feel like they are only there to artificially extend the playtime. Some specific scenarios are an absolute slog to get through (specifically
the medieval witch hunt and the pirate ship
). The Ugly: The gameplay mechanics are incredibly clunky. The combat actively ruins the immersion, and the developers need to either greatly improve it or remove it entirely. SOMA proved that you don't need gunplay to make a horror masterpiece, and A.I.L.A. would have been a vastly superior experience if it had just fully committed to being a pure narrative journey instead of forcing half-baked combat on the player. Verdict: I recommend it for the brilliant story, but be prepared to fight through boring filler and technical jank to see the ending.
Really interesting game. Lots of different gameplay here depending on where you are in the journey. Cant skip scenes in the game but most of the dialogue is relevant and good. Good voice acting Puzzles were not difficult and the medieval sequence was the only one I didnt enjoy. There are a decent amount of areas that require sword/gun action to get through. Not just puzzles. Actually more action than puzzles. Well worth the $20. Just know there are some slow parts and the forest creatures are nightmare fuel

Bom jogo.
Absolutely - this is a great experience so far!
🇩🇪 Deutsch Vielen Dank für dieses Spiel. / Thank you very much for this game. 🇬🇧 English Thank you very much for this game. AILA was one of the most intense horror experiences I have played in a long time. The horror itself can be absolutely brutal. What impressed me most was how often the game played with my perception. Many times there was nothing in front of me, I turned around for a second, and suddenly a doll or another disturbing object was standing right there. Those moments got me every single time. The sound design was also excellent and kept the tension high throughout the game. One small criticism would be the healing animation. The head movement feels quite strong and the bottle covers a large portion of the screen. During combat it can feel a bit uncomfortable. In a strange way it even adds to the horror, but I think it could be toned down slightly. The biggest highlight for me, however, was the cat. I cannot overstate how important the cat was for my experience. There is nobody else in the apartment. Nobody on the balcony. Even the apartments across the street feel distant and empty. Most of the time you are completely alone with the horror. The cat became my anchor. Whenever I returned to the apartment, the first thing I did was look for her. Sometimes she was sleeping in different places, and once I spent quite a while searching for her. As soon as I found her, I immediately felt safer. She brought life into the world. Even when the apartment was completely dark, knowing she was somewhere nearby made the environment feel less empty. More developers should pay attention to details like this. For me, the cat contributed more to immersion than many horror mechanics. The graphics are outstanding as well. I played on the highest settings and absolutely loved the visual quality. The game looks fantastic. What makes me a little sad is that the game does not seem to have received the attention it deserves. In my opinion, AILA can easily stand alongside major horror titles such as Resident Evil. The biggest difference is probably the marketing budget. I genuinely hope more people discover this game. I was also impressed by how convincing the VR concept felt. At times it became so immersive that I found myself thinking about reality even after leaving the game. I remember standing at my sink and briefly questioning how naturally we accept the world around us as real. Another pleasant surprise was the computer interaction. Being able to browse folders, launch files and interact with the system made the experience feel much more believable and immersive. Thank you to the entire development team. This game left a lasting impression on me.
This game is a great twist on reality vs virtual reality. Great psychological puzzles to work through with a difficulty that makes you feel good when you complete them. Amazing graphics and great story line.
It's an okay game overall, it has it's issues like some items being a pain to pick up cause you can't look down far enough, but it was fine. 6.5/10
