A Hat in Time is an amazing 3D platformer that despite being released almost 10 years ago, still feels amazing to play. I recently finished my first playthrough and it was probably the best time I have had in a 3D platformer in AGES. They managed to make good dialogue, controls that are easy to learn, and have boss fights that manage to make it feel like you were progressing in them without needing a health meter. I cannot recommend this game enough if you are at all interested in the 3D platforming genre, or at all interested in buying the game for yourself.
I should have picked this game up a long time ago. It's absolutely dripping with personality which made it a joy to play the whole way through. I loved just about everything about the presentation. The music, environments, characters and dialogue all work together very well to create a memorable experience. The game feels incredible to control, the movement is fluid and gives you just enough options to get to where you want to go without feeling like there's anything missing. There are a couple sore spots where the platforming felt a little awkward or I was fighting with the camera, but none of it detracted from the experience for me. I'd say those moments were the exception rather than the rule. Overall this is a big recommend for me and it has definitely earned it's place among my favourite games.
