About
In A Fox Tale, you will play as Eva as she embarks on her quest to discover if she is the last of her kind.
For the control mechanics, we dedicated a lot of time and effort to creating a physics system that makes traversing the changing environments feel smooth and responsive. You will run, jump, climb, dash and swing your way through the five biomes in the game, each of which introduces its own mechanics to the experience.
Each biome in A Fox Tale is split into small levels, allowing instant retries and little lost progress when coming up short on a jump or falling off a ledge into a pit of spikes.
FEATURES
Fast, responsive movement
Hundreds of handcrafted levels
Optional collectables and challenges
Instant re-spawning
Constantly evolving mechanics
For the level design, each level was initially hand drawn to find the best combinations of mechanics. From there, we build an outline in the game engine, playtest, improve it, and once we are happy, decorate the level and add it to the game. Here's an example of how a level started in the notebook, and how it looked when completed.

Gameplay is super fluid and feels natural. The peppering of a good story also enhances the overall experience with the precision platformer. What really hooked me was the fox and cute animals lol 10/10 would recommend!
This is the hardest platformer I have ever played, but the star collections need some tweaking. Several times I've ran into the last star and with time left on the count down bar only to not pick it up.
I really like this game.
It's a really good platformer, something that's hard to find. The pacing is great and the controls are neat.
Cool 2 hour platformer to get on sale
Fun! I will be getting a controller soon because im just not precise enough with keyboard
A cute short platformer that’s polished and easy to pick up. The controls are snappy and responsive, with familiar mechanics from other games but reiterated. It leans on the easier side overall, though a few screens here and there felt a bit too tight and more puzzle-like than expected. Still a very smooth and enjoyable experience from start to finish. Spent 2.6 hours from start to finish, and have gotten all collectibles.
Sehr gutes Spiel habe es vorm Release die Demo gespielt gehabt und konnte nicht abwarten zu kaufen! Wer auf Jump n run Action steht sollte es auf keinen Fall verpassen . 💪
This a great little difficult platformer that has foxes which makes it even better. Gameplay and mechanics are on point with this one, which is always refreshing to not feel like the game is cheating you out of finishing a complex section. The only thing in it that took some getting used to was the swinging mechanic as it is very linear vs having momentum though the swing so when you miss you miss big. Story is better than most give you out of a game of this style, which was also really nice. I think the thing that hit with me the most was the visuals. It has a very animal well feel to it in terms of how things look and are presented but less bleak overall. It never felt like it was trying to be like something else, but instead just gave the same vibes in a way that is authentic to itself. If you're looking for a platformer that you can get though on a long flight this is a great one to pick up.
