Stellar work, i'm glad to see 17776 (...and a lot of other ilk) start to precipitate video games and I look forward for more. Maybe even more truck'em'ups... You get to take it easy, you get to truck, and you get to be sad. What more do you need? I do have to caution that you will see a lot of rough edges, but aggressive use of the airlift will get you out of anything. Ideally, you should play each chapter in a single sitting (some chatter will repeat if you save/load within a chapter) honk
Chill, sad, tense, zen, simple, complex, queer, and rife with superb dialogue and characters.
Gay sci-fi interactive fiction truck sim is certainly an unusual combination, but shows a lot of passion and creativity that ultimately pays off. In the first half of the game I spent a lot of time dividing my attention between chatter and driving--with no time pressure of course--leading to situations where I was listening to my robot pals speculating on crashed spaceships while the world was spinning because the truck physics was flipping out again. The robot boyfriend is also very cute, would do crimes with him. In the second half, I felt I was getting more mastery over the truck jank, while the plot gained much more focus, turning into an emotionally gripping story about worker oppression.

Do you like chill working games, like Snowrunner or EuroTruck ? Do you think those gamea should stop with pretext stories with white dudes talking about boring stuff? Instead losten to your robo space boyfriend and unionize with your robo trucker comrades
Damn that was good. That ending was such a mess of emotions and that's exactly what brands something as one of my favourites. The gameplay was some solid ASMR. I highly recommend playing the demo (although the demo alone is about 2.5 hours so be prepared for that). Keyboard and mouse works fine and are probably even better, although I wish the controls were a bit MORE obtuse as the obtuse controls are originally what drew me to this game. I have a few criticisms. The MSSIRT has quite janky physics (I suspect the gravity is the problem), the savepoints were a bit too infrequent, and the conversations with other MSSIRTers are usually too long and wordy (the background radio chatter was good though). Orby alone is enough to override all these crticisms though. EDIT: On my second play-through the game crashed in the final cutscene. Didn't effect my feelings towards the game, but if it happens to someone else it may sour the entire experience.
This has come to be my favorite game of all time. It's design is simple, a robot trucker in an abandoned world doing assigned maintenance work, but the way it's depicted and the dialogue makes this game a masterpiece to me. The game is just driving between remote sites performing rudimentary tasks, but the drive and way you communicate with the others on the planet is what makes this game so special. The long distances, open horizons and mostly empty landscapes creates this sense of contemplative loneliness, and the simplicity of the environment seems to enhance these feelings. When your truck picks up radio chatter from other robots, and even better when you get to talk to Orby the dialogue is so natural and human. The juxtaposition of these robotic workers having some of the most warm, real and well-written dialogue just makes you immediately immersed. The story builds to a climax over about 5 or so hours and tells the story it's trying to tell without distractions. The size and pacing of this game is perfect for a short narrative experience that will leave an impression on you. I'm extremely glad I played this game.
It is BEYOND ME why this isn't an indie darling that's lit up Twitter and YouTube. ADoM ticks all the boxes of good sad queer sci-fi game full of excellent writing and longing. I'll be back with a full review once I finish the story, but for now for the love of all that is holy buy this dang game.
ENG: Lovely, I finished it yesterday and am still reflecting on all it brings. It is a very relaxing game, ideal for a drink, the driving is slow because it is a huge truck, many times in bad roads or dunes, apart from having chill puzzles with the crane and so on. All this accompanied with the constant chatting and video calls with coworkers, the game delves much into this world and society with working robots, it is long, it took me 12 hours to finish it. The only negative thing I could say is that the interface is a bit overloaded and that sometimes the truck can tip over quite easily (luckily there is a drone that we can call to reset it). Even so, this is nothing compared to everything it offers, the story and dialogues are very well written. And it is a quite unique game.
This text was written using a translation site. (I am a Japanese speaker, and English is not my strong point.) I was attracted to Orby by the demo version and purchased it. I enjoyed talking with my colleagues and Orby so much that I wish I were a native speaker. It would have been a better experience if I could have understood the finer nuances, but this is a matter of my language skills. Thank you for creating a very logical, intelligent, yet concerned boyfriend in Orby. I can't pay you for your efforts, so I can only hope, but I am secretly waiting for the localization into Japanese. Thank you for letting us play your good game. P.S. If possible, I would like a mode to watch the logs of communication with Orby in one place. It can be opened after clearing the game, etc. ...... Happy Fixing. 🤖💘🤖
I love this game. Driving around, chilling and talking to the squad is fun, the story is interesting and I can tell a robot that I love him, what else could you want.
