Fun little point-n-click film noir game. You can tell a lot of care went into it - it's the little stuff, like being able to go back to and click the dead guy in your office will have your character go "Yep. Still Dead." The detective in general was pretty funny, like when you need to use the gun he looks at the camera and says "I don't actually have a gun, sorry". The voice acting was good, although some of the side characters weren't as quality as the detective. The puzzles required thinking but weren't too complex, felt just right. There were some missed opportunities for item combinations - like you can't combine the crab and knife like in the promo photo. Whole thing took just over 30 minutes, and there's no replay value. I definitely wish it had been longer, but it's still worth checking out as it's entertaining.
Having played the original browser game years ago I enjoyed the Rehash very much. The game is as I remembered it. I like the improvement in the graphics. I would recommend for Nick Bounty fans.
Rating: Dito: 3.2/5 Chat: 3.27/5 Gesamt: 3.24/5
One of the best games of this genre. It brought back a lot of happy memories. Miss the original art style though.
Short and sweet.
I played the original in 2004. back when bush was president, gasoline was under $2.00, and napoleon dynamite just came out. pop culture references aside, this game is awesome and a nice trip down memory lane. While I preferred the hand drawn style of the original, it doesn't lose any of it's originality by switching over to 3D rendering. the voice acting is decent quality and the dialog is funny if not a bit outdated but again, this game came out 19 years ago. you get tons of bang for your single buck resulting in about an hour if you take your time. i can't wait to dive into the sequels.
I loved this game when it was first released and this is very nostalgic. I wasn't keen on the voice recording for the barnacle polisher but the up to date references in the rest of the interactions kept the game fresh.
If you want cheesy humor that makes fun of the point and click genre, detective noir movies, and Chris Hemsworth for some reason, all wrapped in a VERY short Point and Click game (it'll probably take you only around like 1 - 1.5 hours at MOST to finish it), this is the game for you, although I'm pretty sure most people would only buy this if they've played the original flash game. I still think that the original is the better version, the models in this one are just a bit too simple for me, although that does add to its charm (and the price is so low you might as well buy it to support the developers). Overall, 3/5, if I wasn't a fan of the Nick Bounty series, it'd be a 2.5/5.
This game has elements of Discworld Noir, it isn't in quite the same league but being similar in style and humour to one of the great but often overlooked classics is not a bad place to be. It's very film noir in style with a silly 1930's style detective theme, so it's a fun and short point and click affair with silly humour thrown in. It's shortness is it's biggest weakness, but at it's low price this is a game that is certainly worth playing. Not perfect but certainly a game you will enjoy if you like point and click games.
Masterful writing and breathtaking graphics. Gripped me more than the godfather, I felt very on edge. Would not recommend for the faint of heart.
