I recommend! This is a chapter of the Nick Bounty games and is short. -black & white noir atmosphere -Sam Spade style detective music. -Point & click with inventory -Save slots -Fast-travel map Funny dialogue. The game play is like Tex Murphy meets Guybrush Threepwood. I was laughing out loud while playing. Just remember: its so crazy, it might just work.
Fun little detective game that only takes an hour to play. There's some technical quirks but it's charming and funny
Short but sweet! I played this back when it was a Flash game, and it's great to see it remade on Steam, with some jokes updated too. Runs well on Linux!
Ödüllü Flash oyunu: A Case of the Crabs'in eksiksiz bir yeniden yapımı/yeniden düzenlemesi/yeniden düzenlemesi!
[Comment] This is the first detective puzzle game I have ever completed! (because I am noob at puzzle games lol). At some point I was stuck but I started trying to combine random things together and I managed to craft something by chance. Even tho I don't really like puzzle games, I loved this one and I am looking forward to buy & play some of the other Nick Bounty games in the future. [Rating] 9,5/10
A Case of the Crabs: Rehash feels like one of those bizarre little indie experiments that fully commits to being weird, awkward, and strangely charming at the same time. The game throws you into a surreal detective-style adventure involving crabs, nonsense humor, strange dialogue, and intentionally absurd situations that constantly feel like they were designed during a sleep-deprived fever dream. The gameplay itself is fairly simple, mostly revolving around exploration, conversations, solving light puzzles, and interacting with the strange world around you. The real appeal is the humor and overall atmosphere rather than deep mechanics. A lot of the enjoyment comes from seeing what ridiculous thing the game is going to throw at you next. The writing is very internet-humor-heavy, which means it either completely works for you or absolutely doesn’t. If you enjoy random absurd comedy and weird indie energy, there’s a good chance you’ll find parts of the game genuinely funny. If not, the whole experience can feel pointless pretty quickly. The presentation is rough in places, but honestly that almost adds to the charm. The game feels intentionally strange and low-budget in a way that fits its chaotic personality. The good: - Very unique and bizarre atmosphere - Funny if the humor clicks with you - Charming low-budget indie energy - Weird characters and dialogue - Short experience that stays fairly entertaining - Doesn’t take itself seriously at all - Surreal humor creates memorable moments - Interesting little indie experiment The bad: - Humor definitely won’t work for everyone - Gameplay is extremely simple - Limited depth and mechanics - Some jokes feel forced or random - Rough presentation and polish - Pacing can feel inconsistent - Not much replay value - More of a weird experience than a satisfying game Overall, A Case of the Crabs: Rehash is a strange little indie comedy game that survives almost entirely on its weird personality and absurd humor. It’s messy, random, and low-budget, but for the right audience, that’s exactly why it works.
Fun little remake of a Flash Adventure game (https://pinheadgames.itch.io/nickbounty1) Great for free, probably worth $1 in a bundle somewhere. Puzzles are pretty logical, humor is fun (if a bit dated since it's from 2004), and the Film Noir is nicely paired with a lot of dumb jokes
One of the best Nick Bounty Games made by the dev for a ton of Telltale Games adventure games like The Walking Dead and Tales of Monkey Island. This is packed with jokes and references, and it has more voice acting than most offerings in the genre. It's best described as a film noir Monkey Island clone. The puzzles aren't frustrating and the story & script were obviously made with love. It's worth the small price tag over and over. It's a low risk purchase with a high value return.
