An experimental short from the creator of To the Moon & Finding Paradise: A simple & surreal 1-hour interactive animation about a boy and an injured bird, told without dialogues. If you're looking for To the Moon-like experience, I'd suggest playing Finding Paradise first.

Brilliant little addition To The Moon! Once again, fantastic storytelling (don't go in for gameplay).

Playtime: 1.2 hrs (100% of achievements, game completed). Grindy achievement(s): None. Difficult achievement(s): None.
Overview
This short, heartwarming story follows a lonely boy who helps an injured bird recover. Serving as a prologue to Finding Paradise, it is about as close to an interactive movie as you can get, but despite its simplicity, it left me with a warm smile from beginning to end.
Should you buy this game?
Yes — if you're planning to play the To the Moon series in order or enjoy short, narrative experiences that feel more like an interactive movie. However, it may not be for you if you expect meaningful gameplay or a traditional visual novel.

In-Depth Review
A Bird Story is about as close to an interactive movie as you can get. You guide a young boy through the story, but there are no choices, no exploration, and almost no interaction beyond walking from one scene to the next. Even by visual novel standards, it's incredibly minimal. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3759069854 The story follows a boy who finds and cares for an injured bird, with the bond they develop forming the emotional core of the story. Unlike To the Moon (see my review of To the Moon), there are no major twists or unconventional storytelling. It's a straightforward, heartwarming story, and I think that's exactly what it sets out to be. If To the Moon made me cry, A Bird Story simply made me smile. One of my favorite aspects is how the world is presented through the boy's imagination. Paper planes soar through the sky, trees come to life, and all sorts of impossible things happen around him. The abstract presentation gives the game a dreamlike atmosphere and makes it feel like you're experiencing the world through a child's eyes. I even got the impression that the player's eye-shaped viewpoint reinforces that perspective. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3759072264 The story itself isn't particularly unique, but that's not really the point. As a prologue, it feels more like a small character piece than a standalone adventure. I haven't played Finding Paradise yet, but this left me interested to see where the story goes next. Like the other games in the series, the pixel art and soundtrack are excellent. They do much of the emotional work and create a cozy atmosphere that perfectly complements the story. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3759071465

很简单的情节,体验感依旧是伟大

虽然孤独,但也感人呢,值得推荐。我有过孤独的时候去找小动物玩和喂他们的时候,这个故事让我感同身受呢
