Pretty pricey for a toy. Feels underdeveloped (and is basically abandoned at this point) and i'll be honest, it didn't feel any easier than last time i tried just using FL studio.

[b]It's this way or a Steinway[/b] [i]At a glance...[/i] [b]Pros[/b] + Quick to learn, easy & fun to use & very beginner friendly + Make decent sounding electronica with a few doodles and some presets + With skill, practice & more precisely placed notes you can make genuinely good music + If you have advanced skills, a love of retro game music and access to MIDI kit you'll get a kick out of this + It's a lot more capable than some of those negative reviews realise i.e. PEBKAC [b]Cons[/b] - It's not for Pros who can't handle limits, but some of those negative reviews are accurate - If you want a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) this ain't it - You can't put your own samples or instruments into it - The instrument & note limitations will bite more ambitious composers and force you to look to more complicated & professional tools - Unfortunately you can't afford a Steinway and they're too heavy to steal In summary, 1BITDRAGON is great for complete beginners and tailored for a beginner friendly experience. It's okay for more experienced musicians (if you can work within limitations) and good enough for some retro-sounding music production. The store page video gives an honest overview of the capabilities, so watch that and you'll know whether it's a program you'd enjoy for fun or find useful. At almost 40 hours "played" I've managed to produce music I'm happy with, make quick notes for melodies & beat ideas that pop into my head and I've had fun doing it too. Sometimes you don't need a DAW and nosebleeding complexity.

It's been my pastime checking out music apps on steam. Got this when first released and it's the only one I still use, mainly to quickly save a melody I wake up with on my mind on the rare occasions it happens. The plan is to use these as prototypes that I can revisit and expand upon from a music app I'm wanting to create. 1Bitdragon is an easy go-to, with good sounds and easy drum creation. By messing around I've come up with creative melodies I would've never made first-hand on a piano. I just revisited several dream-tunes from months ago, and it was so shocking hearing them as if for the first time. Very simple and fun to use!

It's cute, and fun to mess with but a far cry from any serious music software even free/cheap ones. At $5 I could recommend it easily but for $30? Just save another $30 and buy Reaper.

This is a great software for beginners, especially those who aren't musically inclined. IF you are just looking for simple music to make, then I would definitely say it's a great starting point, but if you have any music experience, you might want to go with a traditional DAW

I like to make video games as a hobby and I don't know much about music. I think this is a simple, easy-to-undertand way to make music for my games. Someone who is better at making music might want something more flexible, though.

I mean I like it but the lack of other notes makes it hard to make different types of music, if updated I will give it a positive review
