This game has the vibe of a Maverick film when flying fighter jets. I enjoy the physics of fighter jets when firing missiles and bullets. At the same time, firing missiles at the vessel requires plenty of patience and accuracy. The first mission was a little difficult, but after an hour of playing and learning the controls, the game became more challenging and exciting. The mouse control is very difficult while flying helicopters; I hope that the dev will add a control feature and also fix some bugs. Overall, the visuals in the game are amazing, with well-rendered ship models, water effects and dynamic weather systems. The sound design adds to the realism by including genuine weapon sounds, radio chatter and the experience of naval warfare. Thanks to the dev for reminding us about the historical event through the game. I am excited to play in multiplayer mode and hope they will add it soon.
Finally more than 15 hours later I have completed all the levels of the game. What I liked: - Decently informative narration of a lesser known, long-standing geopolitical conflict in the form of pre-recorded videos and textual debriefings prior to the beginning of any mission. - Ship to ship battles are kind of fun; arcadey and fun. - Difficulty of missions are a double-edged sword. In other words, people who are willing to lose and return and repeat until a naval operation succeeds won't have much to complain. It wasn't at all easy to complete the game but I have not complaints about that. What needs to improve: - Jet mechanics after the big recent update turned way too arcadey. I liked the pre-update mechanics way better. To each his own. - Needs training levels for vehicles with a steep learning curve like Helicopters. Training levels like the ones found in Squad are needed here. - Voice-overs exist but need more of them. Especially in levels that have a long travel time on ships. The quality of the voice-overs also need to improve significantly. My final words - I liked the game due to the challenges it threw on me. While the big update did indeed improve the game by removing frame-rate caps etc., it changed certain aspects of the game that I didn't like as I mentioned above. All in all, this game isn't for everyone but I liked it.
Had tried out the Demo of this game a few months ago. The ship movement was fine but the Jet flight mechanics and weapon selection technique in ships were a couple of things that pushed me away from making a purchase then. But I have been following these guys and the dev updates they have been posting on Reddit and elsewhere. Tried out their latest test flight demo last week and glad to know that my complaints with jet flying have been fixed. The Patch notes also claimed to simplify ship weapon selection and firing. Decided to buy the game now that it's on discount and I am indeed having a good time with it so far. Flying the chopper in the second level was quite challenging but I managed to complete it and now on the 3rd level. The buoyancy on ships looks good too. All in all, I am having a good time with this game.
I have played games based on different war stories, this is something unique and based on a story which is never talked about. Overall gameplay is fine where you get to control different classes of ships including aircraft carriers and naval jets and choppers. Every missions starts with a cutscene video which briefly explains the situation, the radio chatter affect with Indian accent was a nice touch. The graphics are decent and well presented. Slight improvements are needed in sound affect but overall a well developed game. Really excited how the multiplayer turns out to be which is a work in progress.
The game is honestly surprisingly good great missions, soundtrack, animations and radio chatter very well-made game, honestly, even the missions are a bit advanced and don't offer the same replayability feature honestly bang for a buck game
In my opinion, game isn't good. My reasons: Plane mechanics are mediocre - controls are clunky, the aiming is meh, and the one life per mission is dumb. Spend a few minutes flying to the location you need to go, to destroy half the buildings but get shot to h*ll and die, having to start the whole mission over again. Even the death mechanics are poor. Ships are okay, but collision physics are a joke. When I'm moving at 30 knots in a frigate (assuming frigate based off size), and a tiny PT boat hits the side of me... I SHOULD NOT COME TO AN IMMEDIATE STOP. I then get stuck on said tiny boat and can't aim the guns. This game looked like it'd be fun, but has very poor execution. Only bought because it was on sale, and even that price is asking too much. Honestly, even if the game was free... I'd play something else, this game isn't worth my time. I do recommend that people give it a try if you're interested, as you may like it. But I also recommend that you set a timer for an hour and 50 minutes so you can still request a refund if you decide that you have higher standards for what a game in this decade should be.
Good game, the graphics were very well designed. Had fun completing the campaigns.
The game made me explore the historical events of 1971 naval war. What i learnt that this war was one of the biggest after World War 2 from the perspective of naval battle. Overall gameplay felt smooth. Flying jets was fun but choppers had a level of difficulty which i managed to clear after couple of attempts. The voice narration sounded good as well as the missions in the game were challenging. Still half way to the game which gives overall a unique experience.
Great Graphics, the Vikrant Ship is epic and the flying experience in the fpp mode is great. Enjoyed playing it.
