About
Entities known as The Originals have lived for centuries, granted time, granted power, and the freedom to abuse both. That power is now owed.
Noa Brooklyn was born The Collector, raised by the Zaindaris for a purpose she did not choose: taking that power back.
Explore a handcrafted Amsterdam by day. At night, uncover what lies beneath its surface. Every facade carries a gablestone. Not all of them tell the truth.
The Originals walk among Amsterdam’s citizens, hidden behind human faces. Identify them. Mark them. When the Esbat comes, confront them in their true form under the moon. Collect what is owed.
Noa commands witchcraft and spellcasting passed down through generations of Zaindaris. Each target can be approached in multiple ways. Strategy, timing, and choice define the outcome. Every Esbat is a reckoning.
Noa is not alone. Aaron, summoned from 1999, now sees the world through the eyes of a cat. Together, they are one: Switch between Noa and Aaron across two radically different playstyles. One wields witchcraft. The other has four paws and flair.

I think its a nice game. Don't care much about AI assets that people are talking about, they did say they will replace it. The combat mode is a bit annoying and the jewelleries changes when you lose the fight and have to try and pick them again. But I noticed that it's kinda random-ish. I read it's a 15 hour game but I finished it way faster than that. Also, I was frustrated a lot trying to figure out what to do sometimes. But I still find the game enjoyable. Waiting for the update.
I am super bummed.... I was totally looking forward to playing this game because the Prologue had an amazing concept going on. I can't even get past the shaders when loading up the game though. It constantly crashes. I'm really hoping the developers improve their mechanics and graphics of the game. I hope to try again in the future. Maybe on console if it releases on such.

It's not perfect and its still in early access but it is great fun. Very unique setting and when you transform in to the red outfit and use your witch powers it just feels so cool. What they have here already is amazing and I will say very ambitious. It is slightly janky but I think a lot of the most charming games often can be, when its a labour of love that is trying to really deliver on a vision and going for it.
Tolle Atmossphäre, gut vorbereitet , interessante Geschichte. Ich liebe es!
Diamond in the rough ... like ... very very rough. This is NOT primarily a witch game. Ik. I was disappointed as well. It sucks but it is what it is. Idk nor do I care to know what is AI and what isnt and yadayadayada. I enjoyed the game for what it is, Minimal to no handholding and exploration is key. Thats legit all you need to know. The game has two phases. Day and Night time. During daytime you are allowed to explore and do pretty much whatever you want. You can search shelves, chests and so on to find materials to craft potion or to enhance your combat/magic ability. In orde to do that you employ the service of your trusted Bataraze ... your cat. At the start of the game you can choose its arch type. I went with alchemists but atm it doesnt matter ig. Anyway. During daytime and while you look "normal" you can explore houses and the streets. If you dont have access you can use your cat to either possess someone that opens doors or pathways for you or get keys and other stuff. Nighttime is just 1v1 battle morde. Which SUCKS. Combat is BY FAR idiotic, boring, bugged, and makes legit no fun. During daytime you can run around as a witch and get a record like GTA so the "police" will come and try to ♥♥♥♥ you up. Needless to say you ♥♥♥♥ them up but still ... combat is beyond lackluster and idk if we truly need it. 1666: Amsterdam is, idc what the Devs say, a detective game. The game BARELY tells you what is going on or where to go but thats where the beauty lies. Overall I enjoyed my time with it. I am curious to see whats in store for the game but I am hopeful that the witch part is going to be fleshed out.
Needs some work, though that's the understatement of the year. I'm 20 mins into the story post-demo so far - with my rig, I haven't faced any performance related issues so far. Gotta say: this gameplay should've been in the demo -> looking back, it really does seem as though the devs just took the beginning of the story and chopped up the beginning portion to make said "demo". I'm liking the relationship dynamic between the Cat and the Witch so far - more than I expected tbh. With all that said, the game has an interesting story and concept, so I'm gonna stick it out for the long haul here. There are parts of the game ie. melee combat, that lack the visceral impact vs other games, but I'm just glad to see some new IP in a world full of sequels, derivatives, and remasters/remakes. Regarding the AI controversy: if you're someone who cares about that, cool. Go care on someone else's review, because while I understand there is a razor-thin line between what's acceptable/unacceptable when it comes to AI being used in game development, I'm no Doctor Professor and am not gonna pretend I am. I don't have a high horse, I don't have a horse at all actually. As long as story beats weren't written using it, I can feel the dev's passion/soul in the game, and AI was used for genuinely minute stuff, then idgaf. Full Disclosure: I haven't followed the AI controversy, so if they are doing that, then hell nah bro Anyway, TLDR: Interesting concept, mid gameplay -> I'm sticking around to see more. Get it now if you're familiar with Early Access titles and the risk they pose, or wait for the full game/when it's on sale to play it safe. I have spoken.
I'm currently giving this a soft "No". There are bones here for a good game, but the design and the direction are not good. Some inputs are inconsistent (dodging most importantly - it does nothing 25% of the time). The moment-to-moment gameplay just isn't interesting. Characters are not interesting. Some gameplay mechanics have a veneer of novelty but it wears off quickly. I just haven't found anything engaging here yet. I can see the story and maybe even the gameplay evolving into something special, but unfortunately Panache doesn't have the pedigree to make a believer just yet. Visually, the game is impressive and the performance has been good, too - at least for me.
enjoying the game so far
