This game is beyond epic. If you are a fan of Bond universe, this game is a must play. I hope this guy will be also the live action Bond
I'm old, I played Goldeneye, read the books and visited cinemas many times as a kid and am full of nostalgia and emotion for the franchise, so definantly take that into consideration. Firstly, the game is undeniably beautiful, I spend probably half of my play time walking around the black market of Aleph, staring out at the views over the Antartic Ocean and being mesmarized by the Slovakian forests. The lighting is incredible, sometimes the most dingy basements seem like an art project by the way a window illuminates a room, I'm really in love with the sights and sounds of this game. I wouldn't call the story a dealbreaker, or really bad at all, however I found the tense, multilayered buildup overpowered a disappointing ending with many questions going unanswered. If you're looking for a way to scratch a nostalgic itch, it's probably not going to do that, but if you forget everything and play the game for what it is, I believe you'll be very satisfied.
maybe a bit too simple because you have so much at your disposal and the stealth/stealing/distracting is way too stupid but overall very solid experience and looks gorgeous. 8/10 for me p.s: the hand to hand combat is amazing
Overall, good game. The android fights at the end of the game are just cheap and basically ruin the whole game. They are completely unneccessary and just grind an overall fun game to a halt. Dodging six androids that kill with 1-2 hits, while trying to aim a hacking watch 6 separate times is when I gave up on this enterprise. Whoever designed the final level should be put on public display for idiotic design. Why is it that so many games decide that the final challenge should be some idiotic mechanics gameplay against invulnerable enemies rather than just what one was doing int he rest of the game?! Star Wars Outlaws had this and now 007 First Ligh. What is the point of 'oh you get to play multiple styles until the last level where f you, you either master this one thign or you just don't finish the game'. Its a shame because its an otherwise enjoyable game. And shame on whoever designed this idiotic level and double shame on whoever approved it and alllowed it into a finished game. I'm sure whoever did this is very proud of their teslabot references, but it ruins whatever fun the game offered before.

Been a fan of James Bond since I was around 8 years old. Watching the Pierce Brosnan movies and then the Craig ones, I fell in love with the character. I vividly remember playing Goldeneye on the 64 and Everything or Nothing on the Gamecube. These two felt to me at the time, as the definitve embodiment of James Bond in a playable video game format. When I saw IO was making a Bond game, I had fears that it would just be hitman reskinned. As much as I enjoy hitman games, the hitman style does not fit the Bond style. That being said, IO hit what it feels like to be bond right on the head. Patrick Gibson does a fantastic job of portraying 007 down to the quips, the tonality in his voice and the underlying feeling of blind justice fueled by a his unwavering sense of luck and fearlessness. They nailed Bond, even down to the scar on his cheek, which was such a prominent detail of his facial features in the Flemmig novels, that never made its way to the big screen. All the characters in the game felt alive and like real people as they spoke to you, not just an NPC. The world around you felt immersive as well, as it had pacing that was close to that of a movie. At times, the gameplay did feel very "video game-y" Go from here to there and press a button to interact with something to move the story forward, but there are also a lot of alternate routes to take that feel like more flushed out "secret agent James Bond-y" solutions to a level. The combat is fantastic and feels great, and lets you explore a fairly in depth combo, stealth, environmental and gadget system, or you can choose to just brute force fight everyone. I would say, that this is game is a fantastic addition to the James Bond franchise, and they have done a great job with the story, as well as setting up for future games. I am excited to see where they go next with this iteration, and where the Patrick Gibson 'James Bond' story goes in the future. 9/10 - Fantastic game, some slow moments at times, "boss fights" are a bit repetetive and simple but overall an amazing game.
