loved this game!! it's a fun little adventure, a little bit like the yawhg, but slightly longer. the local co-op is fun, but it works well to play alone as well!! it has good replayability also, i'm very curious about the other endings that i can get. music, animations, and art is great throughout. the game has a very unique vibe i haven't really seen anywhere else i think.
An interesting choose-your-own-adventure with cool art and a setting you want to dig deeper into! A playthrough is worth just seeing all the cool art and fun interactions you can have along the way. I've only played singleplayer so far but I want to get some friends together and see what the multiplayer mode is like!
I have played a couple of runs now, both on my account in single player mode and co-op with a friend, and I had a lot of fun with it! It is a cozy game that oozes atmosphere, largely in thanks to the wonderful art and world-building. Every screen is beautiful. The backgrounds and the character art are brimming with personality and make this game's unique world come to life. I recommend this game to anyone who likes exploring interesting worlds (maybe with friends!), and I especially recommend this to fans of The Yawgh.
I've only done one playthrough so far, and i'm a little overwhelmed, in a good way! The game world is packed with strange environments and characters and things going on. The art is gorgeous! There is clearly a lot more to discover - I need to do more runs, each run is about 20 minutes.
Came because of free food, stayed for the amusing and quirky game. i have now finished the game a couple of times. Its fun to try out different strategies. Putting all your eggs in the friendship basket, or going all out berserker and loosing because your guide didn't know where he was going. Very re-playable, maybe some events are a bit repetitive but overall very fun. i really did not think i would like a game of this type since i mostly play simulation games like satisfactory. But this was a fresh wind of fun!
This game is a bit of a mixture of a visual novel and old school self adventure books where you can influence the story. As you progress through the game the art walks hand in hand with the situations you face. I think that no matter if you face the journey alone or team up with friends, the game promises a unique experience with each playthrough. The art in itself is stunning and warrants multiple playthroughs as you always find something new in the scenery. To my surprise since I'm not much of a music guy, I found the ingame music quite delightful. The dialogue is quirky and funny. There's a bit of a twist at the end which makes the game have replayability - especially if you play with friends/family. Your choices matter, but more so from what you experience in the game and art you see. It's really hard to make poor choices since the game is quirky enough that even if you were to put your hand into the mouth of a grizzly bear it turns out that you managed to remove a splinter from it's gum and you become bff. With that said, if you don't like odd/quirky narratives and want a fast paced game I think you should sit this one out. If you like me, find that those erratic and quirky things make you laugh - especially with friends/family, it's well worth a buy. If you have younger kids I think they would love the art style and how it compliments the story line.
the game works on linux without any issues, add keyboard and/or gamepad/controller navigation and this would be the perfect "minimal battery drain" game for steamdeck by simply locking the fps to the minimum I have yet to get far in the story, but it seems really nice this far, some technobabble feels a bit too babble-y (exploded transistor) but I have experience(and education) that the average player probably don't, and it is on the level of most TV and games there should be some replayability, although I am unsure of how much the story differs when picking different class/character at the start, there DOES seem to be quite a bit of RNG used which is nice My rating: 10 Linux mascots 🐧out of 16 Missing: keyboard or gamepad/controller support to the DEV: keep up the great work. the game should easily get a platinum rating on proton-db and a verified status for steamdeck(once you add keyboard and/or gamepad/controller navigation) hope to see you again next närcon - "that one" linux user
After a few early frustrations where I didn't understanding quite how the game worked systems-wise, and one or two places where it felt like the writing missed a beat and became difficult to follow, which lead me to make choices that felt too uninformed, I had a really good time with this. The systems aren't explained in detail as such, but careful observation of the few UI-elements and the patterns of consequences for your choices will quickly make things clearer, while still intentionally obfuscating enough of what's going on under the hood to let the game stay surprising throughout. The writing overall is fun, and gets a few good laughs, once you realise that it's not really trying to tell a cohesive story, as much as serving you vignettes along the way that each of the playable characters can be inserted into. Further, since it really is a narrative experience rather than a mechanical one, there's no reason to really sweat failing in any individual scene. It's better to just think of that as the story being told, and enjoy the writing for whatever result your choices lead to. On that topic, there also appear to be a lot of different encounters to find depending on which character goes to which place in town on which day, so there's plenty of replayability for those who like to explore different paths. The art is lovely, and the music sets a suitable mood of perilous adventure that's also probably not that serious in the end (except for at the very end!). Playing as a solo player, I was able to more or less decide what kind of outcome I wanted in the final scene, which felt rewarding in its own way, but it would probably be great to try it in multiplayer and actually not have full control of all the characters so you actually have to fight for the outcome you want.
A fun adventure at your own pace. It's pretty challenging, which I really like! A full playthrough at a casual pace (while also eating dinner) took me about 50 min, but I'm sure it's doable in 30 (even without speedrunning).
Love has been poured into this game, it shines though its wonderful art style, creative writing, and fascinating setting. Even playing though it without others, I was absolutely enamoured with its twists and turns- and I plan to get a group together to play all at once because I bet its mechanics really shine though with others (Especially the ending, not to spoil- but it's probably got to be my favourite part.) If you're familiar with "The Yawhg" you're pretty much getting a very similar experience times eleven. That game holds a special place in my heart for its cosy vibes and interesting mechanics, and everything I could hope for and much much more is present in Zone 6- Including its run on effect player interactions and quirky events. I'm not sure what you'd call this style of game, but it's probably one of my favourite genres. Did I mention the art? I love it, each background is suited for a desktop. It's more than a visual novel too, as with each event you get at least two choices and they in turn raise/lower your stats so there is some strategy involved- particularly with the aforementioned ending. It's setting, again, is fit for its own TTRGP book, it pulls off the mix of tech/magic (Magipunk? I guess?) really well. Especially when accompanied with the pretty nice music score, I was surprised to hear such a variety of tracks. Try it out on your lonesome, or grab some friends on discord or something and play though together. Both ways are going to be a fun time. I'm certainly going to be snatching up whoever I can to play this with. Uhhh yeah game good. Yippie!
