About
Zima is the first game developed by GatorByte Games and is a short, cozy RPG that plunges you into a relentless unnatural winter. As you delve into ancient temples to combat a growing corruption, you’ll unravel the mysterious legacy of who you are and what your purpose is. Prepare to uncover secrets buried deep within the Sacred Temples and uncover your true identity.
In Zima you play as a fierce and stubborn young woman determined to protect her home, and the secrets that lie beneath... Within the Sacred Temples you will fight your way through corrupted enemies and forgotten temple guardians using action combat and skill based dodging all while avoiding traps meant to keep intruders out!
Your arsenal will include both melee and ranged weapons that can be upgraded using currency gathered within the temples.
Each temple contains hidden rooms with materials essential for upgrading items in your home, so be sure to explore thoroughly!
Upgrade choices provide unique buffs, allowing customization of your survival strategy.
Most importantly, The Eternal Flame is your lifeline — you'll need to gather Living Coal found within the temples to maintain it and should you fail... winter will slowly consume you.

A nice chill game to spend a couple hours and relax on. for 5$ its definitely worth it! Can also be a nice gift to friends or family as the gameplay is not too hard, so casuals can enjoy it too!! My only hope is that achievements are on the roadmap :D
Cozy and cute RPG that will fill you with warmth on a cold winter's eve. Get some cocoa, sit back and chill (literally) through the harsh winter as you muster up supplies, tackle a sinister dungeon full of tricky enemies that will test your movement skills starting off basic and increasing in difficulty as you progress. Fix up your humble abode in the woods with special loot you find while delving and don't forget to keep the fire going unless you want to freeze in the eternal blizzard! Get lost in the beauty of this amazing first entry by GatorByte Games and it'll cost you less than that cocoa to get you started!
World First Zima Review! Awesome entry into video game development for GatorByte Games. Has a great atmosphere and soundtrack, and at only $5 its a steal. Excited to see what's next.
good balance of cozy and challenge, having fun so far.
Zima is a charming and relaxing RPG with a cozy atmosphere and charming visuals. The gameplay mechanics are fun, fluid, and intuitive, making everything feel smooth and satisfying. The overall experience is calm and enjoyable, perfect for unwinding while still also staying engaging. It’s a lovely, feel-good game with plenty of charm for fans of RPGs and cozy adventures.
is a good game
I'm giving this a thumbs up despite the game issues because I still enjoyed the game. You may not if bugs fluster you and you're aren't willing to work around them. If I could give it a thumbs horizontal I think that would be more accurate. This is not a complex game or a hard game but I still enjoyed playing it. There are 3 dungeons or 'temples' each with different types of monsters and their own maps. There is no map for you to reference so you either have to sketch your own as you go or wander aimlessly like I prefer to do. You don't have to venture everywhere but you do have to find the boss room and kill it to move to the next dungeon. Once you've killed all 3 bosses you've won the game regardless of anything else. It's really quick and as noted below has quite a few bugs so if you want to play don't spend more than a dollar or two for it as it is quite a quick play and quite buggy. There are quite a few bugs as of this post but even with the number of bugs it doesn't really hinder being able to beat the game. You can only upgrade your weapons 3 times and if you do it more than that then you'll just loose the weapon. If you upgrade the weapon from any side besides the front of the anvil you loose the weapon and you'll have to go buy a new one. Once you've upgraded a weapon 3 times everything is super easy to kill and go trough the game. Range weapons don't seem to work. They shoot but don't go anywhere so the only weapon I found useful for a "range" weapon was the boomerang as you can throw it and then move and it will hit things on the way back to you. This also means that bats and the tree monsters which only have ranged attacks can't really hurt you and makes it easy to defeat them. If the game crashes everything in the house re-sets aka all of the house upgrades and any coal you've added to the fire. Besides adding some more coal on the fire you can honestly just ignore the upgrades and keep moving forward they don't really seem to really have that great of an effect since potions drop all the time. Pets exist but there's no way to select them so you can't use them? Also I went back and killed like a million frogs and I still didn't get a frog pet. which I'm bummed about because I'm positive she would've been a cutie!
