5/10 It was a great game at a time, beat it myself at least 3 times. But now it's just too outdated. Controls are terrible, graphics hurt your eyes and it is really hard to navigate. Nostagia alone simply ain't worth it. Just watch a playthrough on youtube, get your relieve and move on with your life.
Zero Tolerance on PC is one of those “yeah… maybe it was better in my head” situations. I remembered this thing as some kind of hidden gem from the Genesis/Mega Drive days, tight corridors, creepy vibe, that intro going way harder than it had any right to, feeling like you were playing something futuristic as hell back then. And to be fair, on console it was kinda revolutionary for its time. Cool concept, solid atmosphere, gameplay that actually worked… just at like 10 FPS (back when people weren't pus**es about that). So you’d think the PC version with turbo mode fixing the speed would save it, right? yeah, no. It runs smoother, sure, but now you actually feel how awful the controls are. It’s like trying to steer a shopping cart with a broken wheel while everything wants to kill you. What used to feel tense now just feels clunky as hell. You’re not fighting aliens, you’re fighting the game itself. And not in a fun way believe me. It’s still got that nostalgic charm, I’m not gonna lie. If you’re really into retro stuff, you can squeeze some enjoyment out of it (with a D pad controller). But if you’re coming in fresh? just leave it in your memories, or someone else’s. 7/10 for nostalgia, but man… this aged rough.
Remediable classic, but the console ports of the of released are way more superior. Which the console ports are titled as Zero Tolerance Collection which featured the unleashed sequel, but the digital PC versions on Steam or GOG are just a lazy emulation port, if i wanted to play the emulation port, i play the Genesis/MegaDrive port! As much as i'm a PC gamer, all they do for Zero Tolerance is release or update this version toe the Zero Tolerance Collection like how they did on the console ports! But as of now on Steam or GOG, i don't recommend this port!
